AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, APPROVING A REZONE OF THE LAOS PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN THE
TOWN LIMITS, LYING APPROXIMATELY SEVEN-HUNDRED FEET EAST OF CAMINO DE
MANANA AND SOUTH OF THE CAMINO DEL NORTE ALIGNMENT, IN SECTION 12,
TOWNSHIP 12 SOUTH, RANGE 12 EAST, FROM ZONE E (TRANSPORTATION CORRIDOR)
TO R-144 (SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL, MINIMUM LOT SIZE 144,000 SQ.FT.).
WHEREAS, Joan Laos own approximately 20 acres of property (Assessor parcel number
216-24-0100), within the northeast one-quarter of section 12, township 12 south, range 12 east
(hereinafter the "Property"), more particularly described in Exhibit A attached hereto; and
WHEREAS, Joan Laos applied to the Town to have her property rezoned to R-144 to come
into compliance with the use on the property; and
WHEREAS, the Marana Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing on January
31, 2001, and voted 7-0, with the condition that only one house per five acres be allowed, to
recommend that the Town Council approve the rezone; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council held a public hearing on March 20,2001, to obtain input
from the Applicant, Town Staff, and the public on the rezoning of the Property, and has determined
that the rezone is in the best interest of the residents and the Town of Maran a and should therefore
be approved.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, as follows:
. The Laos property, Assessor parcel number 216-24-0100 is hereby rezoned to R-144
(single family residential, minimum lot size 144,000 sq. ft.

. All Marana ordinances, resolutions, or motions and parts of ordinances, resolutions, or
motions of the Town Council in conflict with the provisions of this Ordinance are
hereby-repealed effective as of the effective date of this Ordinance.

reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent
