MARANA ORDINANCE NO. 2001.10
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER
4, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, BY ANNEXING
THERETO THAT TERRITORY ENCOMPASSING PORTIONS OF SECTION 6, TOWNSHIP
12 SOUTH, RANGE 13 EAST, AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN'S BOUNDARIES.
WHEREAS, two petitions in writing, accompanied by a map or plot of said real property,
having been filed and presented to the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, signed
by the owners of more than one-half in value of the real and personal property and more than one-half
of the persons owning real and personal property that would be subject to taxation by the Town of
Marana as shown by the last assessment of said property, said property is contiguous to the Town
of Marana, and not now embraced within its limits, asking that the property more particularly
hereinafter described be annexed to the Town of Marana, and to extend and increase the corporate
limits of the Town of Maran a so as to embrace same; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, are desirous of
complying with said petitions and extending and increasing the corporate limits of the Town of
Marana to include said territory, which is approximately 5.5 acres; and
WHEREAS, the Stellar Homes annexation is an area within Section 6, Township 12 South,
Range 13 East, Gila and Salt River Meridian, Pima County, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the petitions set forth a true and correct description of all the exterior boundaries
of the entire area proposed to be annexed to the Town of Marana and had attached thereto at all
times an accurate map of the territory desired to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or reducing the territory sought to be annexed have
been made after any petition was signed by any owner of real and personal property in such territory;

WHEREAS, the zoning classification on the property prior to annexation was "Pima County
Zone SR" (Suburban Ranch) which would translate to "Town of Marana Zone R-144" (Residential),
and
WHEREAS, the provisions of A.R.S. ~ 9-471, and all amendments thereto, have been fully
observed; and

WHEREAS, proper and sufficient certification and proof ofthe foregoing facts are now on
:file in the office of the town clerk of the Town of Maran a, together with a true and correct copy of
the original petition referred to herein, which is on:file in the office of the county recorder.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, that:
1. The territory known as the Stellar Homes annexation is annexed into the Town of
Marana and that the present corporate limits are extended and increased to include the
described area.
2. A copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby
annexed to the Town of Marana, certified by the Mayor of said Town, be forthwith
:filed and recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Pima County, Arizona.
3. The zoning classifications of "Pima County Zone SR" (Suburban Ranch) is hereby
changed to "Town of Mar ana Zone R-144" (Residential).

4. On:file in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Mar ana, Arizona, are those
certain documents, known as Exhibits A and B, which are recorded and hereby
referred to, adopted, and made a part of Ordinance No. 2001.10, describing and
illustrating the Stellar Homes annexation area.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town ofMarana, Arizona, this
19th day ofJune, 2001. .

NORTHWEST CORNER BEING ALSO AN ANGLE POINT IN THE EXISTING
MARANA TOWN LIMITS AS DESCRIBED IN DOCKET 9450 AT PAGE 49,
RECORDS OF SAID PIMA CO{JNTY;
THENCE NORTH 89041 '39" EAST ALONG THE NORTH LINE OF SAID PARCEL
AND MARANA TOWN LIMITS A DISTANCE OF 600.00 FEET TO THE WEST
