SMARA TOWN OF MARANA ATTN: TOWN CLERK 13251 N LON ADAMS RD MARANA AZ 85653 MAIL AMOUNT PAID $ 9.50 MARANA ORDINANCE NO. 2001.19 AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER 4, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, BY ANNEXING THERETO THAT TERRITORY KNOWN AS THE NORTHERN MARANA ANNEXATION, ENCOMPASSING PORTIONS OF SECTIONS 1,12 AND 13, TOWNSHIP 11 SOUTH, RANGE 10 EAST, AND PORTIONS OF SECTIONS 7, 8, 16, 17, 18,20 AND 21, TOWNSHIP 11 SOUTH, RANGE 11 EAST, GILA AND SALT RIVER MERIDIAN, PIMA COUNTY, ARIZONA, AND CONTIGUOUS TO THE TOWN'S BOUNDARIES. WHEREAS, petitions in writing, accompanied by a map or plot of said real property, having been filed and presented to the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a, Arizona, signed by the owners of fifty-eight percent of the value of the real and personal property and sixty-four percent of the persons owning real and personal property that would be subject to taxation by the Town of Marana as shown by the hst assessment of said property, said property being contiguous to the Town of Marana, and not now embraced within its limits, asking that the property more particularly hereinafter described be annexed to the Town of Mar ana, and to extend and increase the corporate limits of the Town of Mar ana so as to embrace same; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, are desirous of complying with said petitions and extending and increasing the corporate limits of the Town of Marana to include said territory, which is approximately 1660 acres; and WHEREAS, the Northern Marana Annexation is an area within Sections 1, 12, and 13, Township 11 South, Range 10 East, and Sections 7,8, 16, 17, 18,20 and 21, Township 11 South, Range 11 East, Gila and Salt River Meridian, Pima County, Arizona; and WHEREAS, the petitions set forth a true and correct description of all the exterior boundaries of the entire area proposed to be annexed to the Town of Marana and had attached thereto at all times an accurate map of the territory desired to be annexed; and WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or reducing the territory sought to be annexed have been made after any petition was signed by any owner of real and personal property in such territory; and b 5 WHEREAS, the zoning classification on the majority of the property prior to annexation was . "Pima County Zone RH" (Rural Homestead) which would translate to "Town of Marana Zone R- 144" (Residential), and an area of approximately 1.5 acres located at the eastern boundary of the "-" . . - ,'~ - " annexation area was zoned "CI-2" (General Industrial) in Pima County, and would translate into the Town of Maran a as "HI" (Heavy Industrial), and WHEREAS, the provisions of A.R.S. ~ 9-471, and all amendments thereto, have been fully o bserved; and WHEREAS, proper and sufficient certification and proof of the foregoing facts are now on file in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town ofMarana, together with a true and correct copy of the original petition referred to herein, which is on file in the office of the County Recorder. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, that: I. 'The territory known as the Northern Marana Annexation is annexed into the Town of Maran a and that the present corporate limits are extended and increased to include the described area. 2. A copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the territory hereby annexed to the Town of Marana, certified by the Mayor of the Town, shall be forthwith filed and recorded in the office of the County Recorder of Pima County, Arizona. 3. The zoning classification of "Pima County Zone RH" (Rural Homestead) within the annexed area is hereby changed to "Town of Maran a Zone R- I 44" (Residential), and "Pima County Zone CI-2" (General Industrial) within the annexed area is hereby changed to "Town of Mar ana Zone HI" (Heavy Industrial). 4. On file in the office of the Town Clerk of the Town of Mar ana, Arizona, are those certain documents, known as Exhibits A and B, which are recorded and hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part of this Ordinance, describing and illustrating the Northern Marana Annexation area. i ~ ,[ PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town ofMarana, Arizona, this 16th day of October, 2001.
