AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AMENDING CHAPTER 3,
ADMINISTRATION, OF THE TOWN CODE OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, BY AMENDlNG
SECTION 3-4-13, SIGNATURES ON CHECKS, AND REPEALlNG ALL RESOLUTIONS,
ORDINANCES, AND RULES OF THE TOWN OF MARANA IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, on March 5, 1996, the Town Council did approve Ordinance No. 96.14, which
adopted that certain document entitled "Marana Town Code, Chapter 3, Administration," as the third
chapter of the official Town Code; and
WHEREAS, due to the growth of the Town, the Mayor and Council desire to amend Section
3-4-13 of the Marana Town Code changing the signature requirements, to include the authorized
signature of the Town's Finance Director, for all checks concerning expenditures of Town monies;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council ofthe Town of Maran a have determined it to be in the
best interest ofthe Town to authorize the addition ofthe Town Finance Director's signature for all
checks concerning expenditures of Town monies.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council ofthe Town of Maran a,
Arizona, as follows:
Section 1.
Section 3-4-13 of the Marana Town Code is hereby amended as follows, with
additions being shown in CAPITAL LETTERS and deletions being shown in
strikeout text:
Section 3-4-13 Signatures on Checks
A.
All checks for expenditures of town monies shall bear one signature of either the
town manager, town clerk, FINANCE DIRECTOR, mayor or vice-mayor.

Section 2.
The various Town officers and employees are authorized and directed to perform all
acts necessary or desirable to give effect to this Ordinance.

Section 3.
All Marana Ordinances, Resolutions, or Motions and parts of Ordinances,
Resolutions, or Motions of the Council in conflict with the provisions of this
Ordinance are hereby repealed, effective as of the effective date ofthis Ordinance.

Section 4.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion ofthis Ordinance is for
any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of
competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining
portions thereof.
Section 5.
The immediate operation of this Ordinance is necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana, Arizona, and an emergency
is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and effect from
and after its passage and adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council ofthe Town of Maran a, Arizona this
