MARANA ORDINANCE NO. 97.14
AN ORDINANCE EXTENDING AND INCREASING THE CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, PURSUANT TO THE PROVISIONS OF TITLE 9, CHAPTER
4, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES, AND AMENDMENTS THERETO, BY ANNEXING
THERETO THAT TERRITORY KNOWN AS THE THORNYDALEROADRIGHT-OF-WAY
ANNEXATION, WIllCH IS CONTIGUOUS TO THE EXISTING TOWN LIMITS OF THE
TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA.

WHEREAS, a petition in writing, accompanied by a map or plot of said real property, having
been filed and presented to the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a, Arizona, signed by the
owners of more than one-half in value of the real and personal property and more than one-half of
the persons owning real and personal property that would be subject to taxation by the Town of
Marana as shown by the last assessment of said property, said property is contiguous to the Town
of Marana, and not now embraced within its limits, asking that the property more particularly
hereinafter described be annexed to the Town of Maran a, and to extend and increase the corporate
limits of the Town of Maran a so as to embrace same; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, are desirous of
complying with said petition and extending and increasing the corporate limits of the Town of Maran a
to include said territory; and
WHEREAS, the Thornydale Right-of-Way Annexation is an approximate 9.57 acre parcel
located in a portion of Sections 5 and 6, in Township 13 South, Range 13 East; Gila and Salt River
Meridian, Pima County, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, the petition sets forth a true and correct description of all the exterior boundaries
of the entire area proposed to be annexed to the Town of Maran a and had attached thereto at all
times an accurate map of the territory desired to be annexed; and
WHEREAS, no alterations increasing or reducing the territory sought to be annexed have
been made after the petition had been signed by any owner of real and personal property in such
territory; and
WHEREAS, there are no transitional zoning classifications which are required in connection
with this annexation; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of A.R.S. ~ 9-471, and amendments thereto, have been fully
observed; and

WHEREAS, proper and sufficient certification and proof of the foregoing facts are now on
file in the office of the town clerk of the Town of Maran a, together with a true and correct copy of
the original petition referred to herein, which is on file in the office of the county recorder.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a,
Arizona, that:
1. The territory known as the Thomydale Road Right-of-Way
Annexation is annexed into the Town of Maran a and that the present
corporate limits are extended and increased to include the described
area.
2. A copy of this Ordinance, together with an accurate map of the
territory hereby annexed to the Town of Marana, certified by the
Mayor of said Town, be forthwith filed and recorded in the office of
the County Recorder of Pima County, Arizona.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a, Arizona, this
19th day of August, 1997.

That portion of Sections 5 and 6, Township 13 South, Range 13 East, Gila and Salt
River Meridian, Pima County, Arizona, more particularly described as follows:
Commencing at the Southwest comer of said Section 5, Thence North 02001 '22H
West, along the Section line common to said Sections 5 and 6, a distance of
1267.63 feet to a point on the Annexation Une created by Ordinance No. 93.12,
as shown in Book 45, at Page 30 of Maps and Plats and in Docket 9497 at Page
652 in the Office of the Pima County Recorder, Arizona, said point being the
Point Of Beginning;
Thence along said Annexation Line, South 8r58'38H West, a distance of 75.00
feet, to the Westerly right-of-way line of Thomydale Road;
Thence along said right-of-way line, also being said Annexation Une, North
02001122" West, a distance of 1321.05 feet:
Thence continuing along the Westerly right-of-way line of Thomydale Road, and
the aforementioned Annexation Line, . North 02014'14" West, a distance of
727.76 feet;
Thence continuing along the Annexation Line, North 12018'01" West, a distance
of 430.21 feet;
Thence continuing along the Annexation Line, North 15045'05" West, a distance
of 257.77 feet;
Thence continuing along the Annexation Une, North 74014'55d East, a distance
of 75.00 feet to the center line of Thomydale Road;
Thence continuing along the Annexation Line, North 80055'45" East, a distance
of 75.51 feet to the Easterly right-of-way line of Thomydale Road;

Thence along said Easterly right-of-way line of Thornydale Road, South 15045'05"
East a distance of 461.05 feet to the beginning of a tangent CUNe, concave to
the Southwest and having a radius of 1075.10, as recorded in Book 26, at Page
84 of Maps and Plats in the Office of the Pima County Recorder, Arizona;
Thence Southerly along the arc of said CUNe also being along the Easterly right-
of-way line of Thornydale Road a distance of .253.58 feet (calculated), 253.74
feet (record) through a central angle of 13030'51. (calculated), 13031'22"
(record), to a point of tangency;
Thence continuing along said Easterly right-of-way line, South 02014'14' East a
distance of 729.25 feet;
Thence continuing along said Easterly right-of-way line, South 02001'22' East, a
distance of 1321.33 feet to a point on aforementioned Annexation Une by
Ordinance No. 93.12, as shown on Book 45, at Page 30 of Maps and Plats in the
Office of the Pima County Recorder, Arizona;
Thence along said Annexation Une, South 8]058'38* West a distance of 75.00
feet to the Point Of Beginning.
Said parcel contains 9.57 acres, more or less.
