MARANA ORDINANCE NO. 96.31
AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA,
AMENDING SECTION 3-4-13 OF THE MARANA TOWN CODE CHANGING THE
SIGNATURE REQUIREMENTS FOR CHECKS, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS,
ORDINANCES, AND RULES OF THE TOWN OF MARANA IN CONFLICT THEREWITH.
WHEREAS, the Town of Marana did adopt Chapter 3 of the Marana Town Code on
March 5, 1996, which outlined regulations for the administration of the town; and
WHEREAS, due to the tremendous growth of the Town of Marana, the Mayor and
Council desire to amend Section 3-4-13 of the Marana Town Code changing the signature
requirements for town checks from two signatures to one signature for ease in accounting
administration.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council as follows:
Section 1. Section 3-4-13 of the Marana Town Code is hereby amended, with additions shown
by underline and deletions shown by strikeout, as follows:

Section 3-4-13 Signatures on Checks
A. All checks for expenditures of town monies rOI all alllount or less than $1,000 shall
bear one signature of either the town manager, town clerk, mayor or vice-mayor.
D. All c.hec.ks for expenditures oftownlllonies rOI an ahlount equal to OJ gJeateJ thah
$1,000 shall bear two signatures or the town manager, town clelk, nl2ryor or vice
l'l.1ayor.
Section 2. The various town officers and employees are authorized and directed to perform all acts
necessary or desirable to give effect to this ordinance.
Section 3. All Marana ordinances, resolutions, or motions and parts of ordinances, resolutions, or
motions of the council in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, effective
as of the effective date of this ordinance.
Section 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any
reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction,
such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof
