HomeMy WebLinkAboutOrdinance 96.34 Adopting the national electrical code 1996 edition '" , MARANA ORDINANCE NO. 96.34 AN ORDINANCE OF THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AMENDING SECTION 7-1-2 (A)(8) OF THE TOWN CODE OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, BY ADOPTING THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION, AS MODIFIED, AND REPEALING ALL RESOLUTIONS, ORDINANCES, AND RULES OF THE TOWN OF MARANA IN CONFLICT THEREWITH. WHEREAS, the Town of Marana did adopt Chapter 7 of the Marana Town Code on, December 19, 1996, which outlined regulations for the building and construction within the town limits of Maran a; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council desire to amend Chapter 7 Section 7-1-2 (A) of the Marana Town Code to adopt the National Electrical Code, 1996 Edition as modified and have determined that the adoption of the latest version of the National Electrical Code is in the best interests of the citizens of the Town of Mar ana. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a, Arizona, as follows: Section 1: Section 7-1-2 (A)(8) of the Marana Town Code is amended, with additions shown ,-. by CAPITAL LETTERS and deletions shown by strikeout, as follows: Section 7-1-2 Uniform Building Code Adopted A. The Marana building code, codified in this chapter, adopts by reference the 1994 Uniform Building Code, as amended, of the International Conference of Building Officials, together with the following national codes: (8) National Electrical Code, 1993 edition 1996 EDITION, AS AMENDED BY THE UNIFORM NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE MODIFICATIONS, 1996 EDITION; Section 2. All ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions of this ordinance are hereby repealed, effective as of the effective date of this ordinance. Section 3. Repeal of all ordinances and parts of ordinances in conflict with the provisions set forth herein does not affect rights and duties that have matured or penalties that were incurred and proceedings that were begun before the effective date of that repeal. Section 4. If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions thereof ,- Marana, Arizona Ordinance 96.34 Page 1 of2 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town 0 .
