AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE PERSONNEL POLICIES OF THE TOWN OF
MARANA AS THEY RELATE TO THE OFFICE OF TOWN MANAGER
WHEREAS the Marana Town Council by Ordinance No. 85.03,
passed and adopted on September 3, 1985, added Section 01.02 to
Section O1 of the Personnel Policies of the Town of Marana,
creating the office and responsibilities of the Town Manager; and
WHEREAS the Marana Town Council does now wish to amend
those Personnel Policies as more particularly set forth herein.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Mayor and Town
Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona as follows:
1. That Section 01.02.04 of the Personnel Policies of
the Town of Marana, Arizona be amended to read as follows:
"01.02.04. REMOVAL FROM OFFICE. The Town
Manager may be removed by the Council by a
majority of its members without cause upon 30
days notice. The Town Manager may be removed
by the Council by a majority of its members
with cause upon 15 days notice. The Town
Manager must give 90 days written notice of
his or her intention to resign, provided that
the Town Council, upon a majority vote of its
members, may waive 8ny or all of this
requirement."
WHEREAS, it is necessary for the preservation of the
public peace, health and safety of the Town of Marsna, Arizona,
an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this Ordinance
shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and
adoption.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona this 20th day of March, 1989.
