AN ORDINANCE PROPOSING AN EXTENSION OF THE ALTERNATIVE
LOCAL EXPENDITURE AND LIMITATION FOR THE TOWN OF MARANA
WHEREAS the Arizona State Constitution permits the
submission to the voters of a Town of an alternative local
expenditure limitation; and
WHEREAS the voters of the Town of Marana, Arizona in 1985
adopted an alternative local expenditure limitation; and
WHEREAS the Town of Marana, Arizona, after two public
hearings has determined that an extension of the alternative
local expenditure limitation is necessary for the Town of Marana.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE
TOWN OF MARAlgA, ARIZONA that the estimates of revenue and
expenditures shown on the accompanying schedules as now
increased, reduced or changed by and the same are hereby adopted
as the budget of the Town of Marana, Arizona for the fiscal year
1988-89.
BE IT FURTHER ORDAINED that the said estimates of revenue
and expenditures as shown on the accompanying schedules exclude
from local revenues any monies received by the Town as specified
under Article 9, Section 20 (3) (d), of the Arizona Constitution.
WHEREAS the immediate operation of this Ordinance is
necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health and
safety of the Town of Marana, Arizona, an emergency is hereby
declared to exist, and this Ordinance shall be in full force and
effect from and after its passage, adoption and approval by the
Town Council of the Town of Marana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Town Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona this 16th day of August, 1988.
