WHEREAS, the Town of Marana did enact that certain Ordinance 77.10 on the 6th day of September, 1977, and %~{EI~, the Town of ~{arana does now wish to amend said Or- dinance by adding an amendment to the Uniform Building Code, allowing the use of stabilized unburned adobe brick in con- Struction within the Town, NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CON~WON COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA THAT ORDINANCE 77.10, SECTION 02, UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, IS HEREBY AMENDED BY ADDING THE FOLLOWING REVISIONS TO CHA~ 24 GF SAID CODE: (~M~TER 24. Foundation Par-to walls n~t over 6 feet high may be 8 inches thick. Adobe shall not be used for foundation (stem} or basement walls and sh~11 have · footing cc~ply~ng with this Code. The foot~n~ w~dth and depth shall be governed by the allowable bearing pressure of the soil and allowable ~at~ria~ stresses. (b) Classes of Addle. 1. Shrinkage Cracks. ~o re%its shall contain more than 3 shrinkage cracks, and no shrinkage crank shall exceed 3 inches in len9~h o= 1/8 inch in width. (e) Construction.
