AN ORDINANCE A~ING TOWN ORDINANCE 77.10 BY PRO~tDING SPECIFIC FEES FOR BUILDING
PERNETS AND INSPECTIONS.
WHEREAS, the Town of ~{arana did enact that certain Ordinance 77.10 on the 6th
day of September, 1977, sad
WKERF~, the Town of ~arana does now wish to amend said ordinance by adding a
revised schedule of building permit and inspection fees,
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CO~DN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF ~%ANA THAT
ORDINANCE 77.10, SECTION 03, BUILDING PER~IT REQUIRES, IS HE~EBY A~ED BY
ADDING THE FOLLOWING, WHICH SHALL REPLACE ANY EXISTING SCHEDULE OF PEP~T AND
INSPECTION FEES PR0~-iDED FOR IN SAID ORDINANCE:
03.02 FEES AND CHARGES
03.02.01 Basic Permit Application Fee
Each application ~or a building permit shall be accompanied by a basic
permit fee of five dollars ($5), payable to the Town of ~arana and submitted
by the permit applicant to the Town Clerk.
03.02.02 Plans Check Fees
The fee for a plans check required under the provisions of this title shall be:
A. for a new building or structure (except a free-standing sign) or the struc-
tural renovation, substmatial modification, or enlargement of an existing
building Or structure, the fee shall be one cent ($0.01) per cubic foot of
structure under roof. The plaus check performed for this fee shall include,
as a minimum, a review of all electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and struc-
tural work in the proposed structure, modification, Or addition.
B. for the erection of a free-standing sign, the fee shall be fifty cents
($0.50) per square foot of signboard on which a display appears, plus one
dollar ($1.00)for each foot of height of the sign, as measured to the top
of the sign~ in excess of twelve (12) feet, plus an additional five dollars
($5.00) per sign if the sign is to be lighted.
C. for a substantial modification or enlargement of the electrical system of
an existing structure or building, the fee shall be:

(2) for any three-phase system or any single phase system larger than 200
ampere capacity, a basic system surcharge of fifteen dollars ($1~.00! plus
two dollars ($2.00) for each outlet, switeh, light fixture,.or ezreult
breaker in the system, plus five dollars ($5.00) for each circuit panel
Or disconnect in the system.
D. for a substantial modification or enlargement of the plumbing system of
~u existing building or structure, the fee shall be one dollar ($1.00) for
each water Or waste fixture unit~ snd five dollars ($5.00) for each g~s
pliauce or unit to be served.
E. for a substantial modification or enlargement of the mechanical system
of an existing structure or building~ the fee shall be ten dollars ($10.00)
for each horsepower of motor rating for any heating equipment to be installed~
ten dollars ($10.00) for each horsepower of motor rating~ up to five horse-
power~ plus fifteen dollars ($15.00) for each horsepower of motor rating
in excess of five horsepower; for each evaporative cooler to be installed,
four dollars ($4.00) fOr each horsepower of motor rating, up to five horse-
power,'pIhs six dollars ($6.00) for each horsepower of motor rating in ex-
cess of five horsepower for each refrigerated air conditioning unit to be
nstalled~ and fifteen dollars ($15.00) for each horsepower of motor rating,
up to ten horsepower~ plus twenty dollars ($20.00) per horsepower of motor
rating in excess of ten horsepower for each industrial or commercial motor
to be installed.
All of the above plans check fees shall be payable to the designated con-
sultant or inspector who performs the plans check, but all such payments
shall be remitted through and be recorded by the Town Clerk.
03.02.05 Inspection Fees
The fees for building inspections required under the provisions of this
title shall be set at one-tenth of the appropriate plans check fee for each
inspection required.
All of the inspection fees shall be payable to the designated inspector
who performs the actual inspections, but all such payments shall be remitted
through and be recorded by the Town Clerk.
