OF PAGES= 1 SEQUENCE= 20021950036 lO/O8/2oo2 RES 09=43 MAIL AMOUNT PAID MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2002-111 $ 8.00 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, ESTABLISHING COMPENSATION FOR THE COUNCIL MEMBERS. WHEREAS, Section 2-1-8 of the Town Code, as amended, provides that the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana shall establish compensation for the Town's elective officers by resolution; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and coUncil have determined that an annual salary of$11,400 for the Mayor and $9,000 for the Council Members, and benefits available to regular part-time employees of the Town, will provide fair and adequate compensation for the performance of their official duties; and WHEREAS, Article 11, {} 4, part 17 of the Arizona ConStitution provides that any increase in compensation for the Mayor and Council shall not become effective until a member of the Council begins a new term of office. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, that the annual salary of the members of the Town Council shall be $11,400 for the Mayor and $9,000 for the Council Members, and that the Mayor and Council shall be entitled to the same benefits that are available to regular part-time employees of the Town. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that said salary and benefits shall become effective as o f July 1, 2003, and shall be prorated accordingly. BE 1T FURTHER RESOLVED-that the various Town officers and employees are'authorized and directed to perform all acts necessary and desirable to give effect to this Resolution.
