A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA,
ESTABLISHING AN EIGHT (8) MEMBER SPECIAL COMMITTEE KNOWN AS THE BERRY
ACRES CITIZENS ADVISORY COMMITTEE.
WHEREAS, pursuant to Article 2-7 of the Marana Town Code, the Mayor and Town Council
are empowered to create a special committee which they deem necessary, upon a majority vote of the
Council, to address a specific task; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council find that there are significant issues regarding the Berry
Acres neighborhood, particularly floodplain and floodway issues; and
WHEREAS, forming a Berry Acres Citizens Advisory Conunittee for a one-year period
would provide citizen input to assist the Council in developing a process and an overall work
program designed to address floodplain and floodway issues in that area; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council find that appointing seven members with the Town
Manager appointing one member to the Berry Acres Citizens Advisory Committee is in the best
interests of the Town and its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE~BE IT R.E~.~L,V, ED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona, that ~ ~~ ~[0~ ~ are hereby appointed to the Berry Acres Citizens
Advisory Committee, for a period of one-year from the date this Resolution is passed.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, this
5th day of November, 2002.
