A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY PLAT FOR SAFEWAY SHOPPING
CENTER, SUBMITTED BY SAFEWAY INC., THAT WOULD CREATE A COMMERCIAL
SUBDIVISION CONSISTING OF 6 LOTS ON 19.75 ACRES, LOCATED AT THE
SOUTHEAST CORNER OF SILVERBELL ROAD AND TWIN PEAKS ROAD, IN A
PORTION OF SECTION 20, TOWNSHIP 12 SOUTH, RANGE 12 EAST.
WHEREAS, the Town of Marana approved and adopted the specific plan for the area
known as Continental Ranch on April 5, 1988 (Ordinance 88.09), located within the corporate
boundaries of the Town of Marana, Arizona and has amended the Specific Plan from time to
time; and
WHEREAS, Safeway Inc., is the owner of property located east of Silverbell Road and
south of Twin Peaks Road, more particularly within a portion of Section 20, Township 12 South,
Range 12 East, known as Parcel 20 of the Continental Ranch Specific Plan, and has applied to
the Town of Marana for approval of a preliminary plat for a commercial subdivision consisting
of 6 lots on 19.75 acres, including Lots 1 through 6 and Common Area "A" and more particularly
described in Exhibit A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference (Exhibit "A");
and
WHEREAS, the Marana Town Council has heard from the representative(s) of the
owners, staff, and members of the public at the regular Town Council meeting held May 7, 2002,
and has determined that the preliminary plat for Safeway Shopping Center should be approved
pursuant to the recommendation of the Marana Planning Commission.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, that the Preliminary Plat for a Safeway Shopping Center, submitted by
Safeway Inc., for a commercial subdivision consisting of 6 Lots on 19.75 acres of property,
known as Continental Ranch Parcel 20, located within the Continental Ranch Specific Plan area,
more specifically located east of Silverbell Road and south of Twin Peaks Road, more
particularly within a portion of Section 20, Township 12 South, Range 12 East, be approved
with the following condition:
· Acceptance of minor technical revisions by the Engineering Department prior to
the preliminary plat being signed by staff.

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that this Resolution shall automatically terminate on
May 7, 2004, unless prior to that date a building permit has been issued for the Safeway Store.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona,

Count)', Arizona, described as follows:
COMMENCING at the Southeast corner of the said Section 20;
THENCE North 00 degrees 35 minutes 06 seconds West along the East line of the said Section 20, a distance of 405.46
feet to the Northeasterly right-of-way line of the realigned Silverbell Road;
THENCE along the said Northeasterly right-of-way line the following courses and distances;
North 61 degrees 31 minutes 17 seconds West. 905.84 feet to a point of curvature of a tangent curve concave to the
Northeast;
Northwesterly along the arc of said curve, to the right, having a radius of 3,100.00 feet and a central angle of 021
degrees 46 minutes 11 seconds for an arc distance of 1,177.86 feet to the POINT OF BEGINNING;
Northwesterly along the arc of said curve, to the right, having a radius of 3,100.00 feet and a central angle of 014
degrees 11 minutes 15 seconds for an arc distance of 767.61 feet to a point of tangency;
North 25 degrees 33 minutes 51 seconds West, 153.35 feet;
TELENCE North 64 degrees 26 minutes 09 seconds East, 64.50 feet;
THENCE North 25 degrees 33 minutes 51 seconds West, 70.00 feet to the Southeasterly right-of-way line of the
realigned Twin peaks Road;
THENCE North 63 degrees 17 minutes 40 seconds East along the said Southeusterly right-of-way line, a distance of
996.50 feet:
THENCE South 16 degrees 30 minutes 27 secoads East, 918.83 feet to a point on the arc of a non-tangent curve
concave to the Southeash a radial line of said curve through said point having a bearing of North 08 degrees 34
minutes 11 seconds West. said point being ou the Centerline of Draiuageway No. 3:
