A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, APPROVING THE PRELIMINARY BLOCK PLAT FOR MARANA GOLF AT
CONTINENTAL RANCH, SUBMITTED BY MARANA GOLF INC., A MULTI-USE
DEVELOPMENT CONSISTING OF 5 BLOCKS ON 354.34 ACRES, LOCATED NORTH OF
CORTARO ROAD AND EAST OF THE SANTA CRUZ RIVER, WITHIN SECTIONS 22, 26,
AND 27, TOWNSHIP 12 SOUTH, RANGE 12 EAST.
WHEREAS, the Town of Marana approved and adopted the specific plan for the area
known as Continental Ranch on April 5, 1988 (Ordinance 88.09), as subsequently amended,
located within the corporate boundaries of the Town of Marana, Arizona; and
WHEREAS, Marana Golf Incorporated is the owner of property located north of Cortaro
Road and east of the Santa Cru~ River, more particularly within Sections 22, 26, 27, Township
12 South, Range 12 East, known as Parcels 62, 62B, 62C, 62D, 62E, 70, 73, and 74 of the
Continental Ranch Specific Plan, and has applied to the Town of Marana for approval of a
preliminary block plat for a multi-use development consisting of 5 blocks on 354.34 acres, more
particularly described in Exhibit. A, attached hereto and incorporated herein by this reference
(Exhibit "A"); and
WHEREAS, the Marana Plann/ng and Zoning Commission has heard from the
representative(s) of the owners, staff, and members of the public at the regular Plannin~ and
Zoning Commission meeting held April 24, 2002, and has determined that the preliminary block
plat for Marana Golf at Continental Ranch should be approved pursuant to the Commission's
recommended condition.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, that Marana Golf at Continental Ranch, submitted by Marana Golf Inc., for a
multi-use development consisting of 5 blocks on 354.34 acres of property, known as Continental
Ranch Parcels 62, 62B, 62C, 62D, 62E, 70, 73, and 74, located within the Continental Ranch
Specific Plan area, more specifically located north of Cortaro Road and east of the Santa Cruz
River, more particularly within portions of Sections 22, 26, and 27, Township 12 South,
Range 12 East, be approved with the following condition:
All public street/roadway improvements and/or construction shall be designed and
installed in conformance with the Town of Marana commercial/residential street
standards. The design and location of these improvements shall be conveyed through
cross-sections and details shown on the final plat and shall be accepted by the
Development Services Administrator prior to Mayor and Council consideration of the
final plat.
