A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA,
ACCEPTING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN
THE TOWN OF MARANA AND PIMA COUNTY FOR THE DISBURSEMENT OF FISCAL
YEAR 2001 DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE GRANT FUNDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUff'MENT FOR FIRST KESPONDERS
WHEREAS, the Marana Police Department is a member of the Pima Domestic Preparedness
coUncil and took an active part in the assessment of terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction;
and
WHEREAS, as a result of this assessment, the Town of Marana was awarded money under a
Fiscal Year 2001 Department of Justice grant for the purpose of purchasing personal protective
equipment for first responders; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Marana desires to enter into an Intergovemmental Agreement with
the Pima County Health Department that will set forth of purchase and reimbursement requirements
for the disbursement of the Department of Justice grant funds to the Marana Police Department in
the amoUnt of Seventeen thousand four hundred eighty-six dollars ($17,486).
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, do hereby accept and authorize the Intergovernmental Agreement between the
Town of Marana and Pima County for the purpose of setting forth the requirements for purchasing
personal protective equipment for first responders.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to eXecute said
Intergovernmental Agreement on behalf of the Town of Marana.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, this
day of September, 2002.
