HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-009 purchase of property for honea heights neighborhood parkMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2001-09 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA AUTHORIZING THE TOWN TO PURCHASE FROM ROBERT L AND PATRICIA J. HONEA 10.11 ACRES FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF HOUSES BY THE TOWN OF MARANA HOME PROGRAM AND FOR A NEIGHBORHOOD pARK IN HONEA HEIGHTS NEIGHBORHOOD. WHEREAS, The Town of Marana desires to engage in housing and community development activities as authorized under the Town of Marana HOME Program Regulations; and WHEREAS, the Town of Marana intends to develop a linear park system along the Santa Cruz River; and WHEREAS, Robert L and Patricia J. Honea own, and desires to sell, 10.11 acres located on Sandy Street, identified as Pima County Assessor parcel # 2175000400; and WHEREAS, the Town of Marana desires to purchase the 10.11 acres for the purpose of building homes to be sold to low to moderate income citizens through the Town's First-time Homebuyers Program and to develop a public park. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana that Town staff is authorized to purchase from Robert L. and Patricia J. Honea the parcel identified as Pima County Assessor Parcel #s217-50-0400 for a price of $75,000.
