HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2001-016 declaring the trail system master plan a public recordMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2001-16 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, DECLARING THE TOWN OF MARANA TRAIL SYSTEM MASTER PLAN OF THE PARKS SYSTEM MASTER PLAN ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN TO BE A PUBLIC RECORD AND DECLARING AND ADOPTING THE TRAIL SYSTEM MASTER PLAN AS AN AMENDMENT TO THE PARKS SYSTEM PLAN ELEMENT OF THE GENERAL PLAN. W~tEREAS, the Town of Marana approved and adopted the Parks System Master Plan Element of the Town of Marana General Plan on July 5, 2000 (Resolution 2000-66) within the Town's General Plan boundary; and WHEREAS, THE Town of Marana expanded the trail part of the Park System Master Plan into a Trail System Master Plan; and WHEREAS, The Marana Planning and Zoning Commission held a public hearing and voted to unanimously recommend that the Town Council adopt the Trail System Master Plan as an amendment to the Parks System Plan Element of the General Plan; and WHEREAS, the Marana Town Council has heard from the Town's Consultant, staff, and members of the public at the regular Town Council meeting on this date; and WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, after a public hearing conducted on this date, have determined that approving the proposed Trail System Master Plan Element of the Park System Plan Element of the General Plan is in the best interest of the residents of Marana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, as follows: Section 1: Declaring the Trail System Master Plan an Element of the Park System Master Plan for the General Plan to be a public Record, three copies of which are to be kept on file at the office of the Town Clerk. Section 2: The proposed Trail System Master Plan Element of the General Plan be adopted as presented in the staff report and by the Town's consultant. Section 3: All ordinances, resolutions, or motions and parts of ordinances, resolutions, or motions of the Council in conflict with the provisions of this Resolutions are Marana Resolution No. 2001-16 Page 1 of 2 hereby repealed, effective as of the effective date of this Resolution. Section 4: If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this Resolution is for any reason held to be invalid or unconstitutional by the decision of any court of competent jurisdiction, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions hereof.
