A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, EXTENDING THE SIGNIFICANT LAND USE CHANGE FOR KACHINA
RANCH KENNELS
WHEREAS, On May 3, 2000, Mr. Glen Seal, President/Owner, of Kachina Ranch
Kennels requested a Significant Land Use Change to allow for the mini-storage and boaURV
storage in conjunction with the kennel's dog and eat boarding; and
WHEREAS, Notice of intent was sent out to land owners within a 1-mile radius of the
parcel and no opposition was received within the 35-day protest period; and
WHEREAS, On June 26, 2000, a letter was sent to Mr. Glen Seal approving the
Si,~tmificant Land Use Change allowing for mini-storage and boat/RV storage; and
WHEREAS, The Town of Marana Land Development Code (05.03.01.4) states that "any
land use change allowed under 05.03 shall either commence within a period of one year fi.om it
being allowed or be null and void, unless, upon a written request fi'om the applicant submitted no
later than 30 calendar days prior to the one year date of expiration, the time period is extended by
the Town Council"; and
WHEREAS, on May 3, 2001, Mr. Seal asked for an extension of 1 year on the
commencement of the significant land use change.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona, that SLU-0036, the Significant Land Use Change for Kachina Ranch Kennels allowing
for mini-storage and boat/RV storage in conjunction with the kennel, have the conanencement
period extended for 1 year, expiring on June 26, 2002, if not acted upon.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, this 5th
day of June, 2001.
