A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE EXPENDITURE OF CONTINGENCY FUNDS FOR
THE PURCHASE OF VEHICLES AND EQUIP~~ AND FOR UNANTICIPATED
EXPENSES. -
WHEREAS, on June 15, 1999, the Town of Marana adopted the fiscal 1999-2000
budget; and
WHEREAS, the fiscal 1999-2000'budget establishes a Contingency Fund of $1
million to be used in the event of unanticipated expenditures and/or unexpected increases
in revenue sources; and -
WHEREAS, through the period en,din, g January 31, 2000, the Town has reported a
surplus of approximately $3.5 million due to unexpected increases in revenue sources and
delayed spending for capital projects and expects to end the fiscal year with a surplus;
and
WHEREAS, the Town has identified a need to expend approximately $235,000
for non-budgeted purposes.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town
of Marana, Arizona, that the expenditure of approximately $235,000 from Contingency
Funds is hereby authorized.
