HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2000-045 application to greater arizona development authority MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2000-45 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZATING AN APPLICATION TO THE GREATER ARIZONA DEVELOPMENT AUTHORITY FOR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE PURSUANT TO TITLE 41, CHAPTER 10, ARTICLE 8, ARIZONA REVISED STATUTES: WHEREAS, in Chapter 208 of the Laws of 1997 ("The Act"), the Arizona Legislature established the Greater Arizona Development Authority ("GADA") and authorized GADA, among other things, to provide technical assistance to political subdivisions, special districts and Indian tribes through staff or other professional assistance in connection with the development or financing of infrastructure; and WHEREAS, AR.S. .ij 41-1554.05 defines technical assistance as including assistance in selecting outside consultants, evaluation of design and construction options, financial advisory services and assistance in satisfying statutory requirements; and WHEREAS, AR.S. .ij 41-1554 (6) defines "infrastructure" as "any facility located in this state for public use owned by a political subdivision, special district or Indian tribe that retains responsibility for its operation and maintenance"; and WHEREAS, applicants for technical assistance must file applications in accordance with the requirements of the Act and of rules promulgated by GADA; and WHEREAS, the Town of Maran a has determined that it will file an application with GADA for technical assistance for the development ofthe Town of Marana Transit Development Plan; and WHEREAS, AR.S. .ij 41-1554.04 (H)(3) requires that applications for technical assistance "include a resolution from the governing body of the political subdivision, special district or Indian tribe that the project is in the best interests of the residents; and AAC. R20-8-102 (D)(3) requires in addition that the applicant state "[t]he estimated economical impact on the community; and... [t ]he commitment of local funds, if applicable: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, as follows: 1. THAT the Town of Marana Transit Development Plan is in the best interests of the residents of the Town of Marana. 2. THAT the estimated economic impact on the community is $50,000.00.
