HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2000-048 IGA with pima college credit for law enforcement courses ""',,'> j."...~ ".' .,"""; - ,,,~,,.~,--,,,!"~~"'~:"'-',,,,.,,,,...,.,,," MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2000-48 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PIMA COUNTY COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT FOR COURSES IN LAW ENFORCEMENT AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT. WHEREAS, the Pima County Community College Distric~ through its Governing Board, is empowered and authorized to contract, employ faculty and stafl: and provide educational courses and/or programs pursuant to A.R~S. ~ 15-1444; and WHEREAS, it would further the public interest if this educational opportunity is provided to the Marana Police Department to enroll designated students for college level courses; and WHEREAS,the Marana Police Department and the Pima County Community College District desire to enter into a cooperative Agreement for the implementation and administration of an educational program; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED the Mayor and Council of the Town of Maran a, Arizona authorize the Town to execute the Intergovernmental Agreement by and between the Town and Pima County Community CoJIege District, attached hereto as Exhibit A .
