OF PAGES: 2 SEQUENCE: 20001120587 06/09/2000 RES 16:22 M~IL AMOUNT PAID $ 8.00 MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2000-61 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE RENEWAL OF AN INTERCJOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT WITH PIMA COUNTY FOR PAYMENT FOR THE INCARCERATION OF MUNICIPAL PRISONERS. WHEREAS, in the interests of public safety, the Town of Marana is in need of assistance from Pima County for the incarceratiOn of municipal prisoners; and WHEREAS, Pima County has trained personnel and facilities capable of receiving, detaining, caring for, feeding and providing medical care for municipal prisoners in order to enforce the Marana Town Code and the Arizona Revised Statutes as they relate to incarceration of certain arrestees of the Town of Marana; and WHEREAS, the Town of Marana and Pima County previously entered into an Intergovernmental Agreement for Incarceration of Municipal Prisoners, and such agreement will expire on June 30, 2000; and WHEREAS, the acceptance of the renewal of the Intergovernmental Agreement, which allows the Town of Marana to cooperate with Pima County in providing for incarceration of municipal prisoners and to pay Pima County a fee of $61.12 for the first day booking and the inmate housing rate of $52.91 for each subsequent day per prisoner for such service, is in the best interest of the citizens of the Town of Marana. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, that the renewal of an Intergovernmental Agreement between the Town of Marana and Pima County for Payment for Incarceration of Municipal Prisoners be authorized and accepted. Marana Resolution No. 2000-61 Page 1 of 2 ~ BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor is authorized to execute said Intergovernmental Agreement on behalf of the Town of Marana.
