A RES OLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA,
AMENDING THE TOWN OF MARANA REVISED PERSONNEL POLICIES AND
PROCEDURES BY REMOVING COLUMBUS DAY AND ADDING PRESIDENTS' DAY TO
THE APPROVED SCHEDULE OF ANNUAL PAID HOLIDAYS.
WHEREAS, the current schedule of approved paid holidays, as listed in the Town of Marana
Revised Personnel Policies and Procedures, section 4-14-2(C), includes ten days throughout the year,
including Columbus Day, but omitting Presidents' Day; and
WHEREAS, the Human Resources Department has conducted a study that found that a
change in approved holidays from Columbus Day to Presidents' Day would promote efficient
conduct ofinterjurisdictional business; and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council find that a change of approved Town holidays removing
Columbus Day and adding Presidents' Day would be in the best interest of the Town of Marana and
its residents.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED bythe Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona, that section 4-14-2(C) of the Town of Marana Revised Personnel Policies and Procedures
is hereby amended such that Columbus Day is removed from the list of approved holidays and
Presidents' Day is added to that list.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, this
19th day of September, 2000.
