A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCm OF THE TOWN OF MARAN& ARIZONA APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN INTERGOVERNMENTAL AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE TOWN OF MARANA AND THE UNIVERSITY OF ARIZONA TO MODIFY AND RENEW MEMBERSHIP TO THE WATER CONSERVATION ALLIANCE OF SOUTHERN ARIZONA (WATER CASA). WHEREAS, the Town and the Arizona board of Regents, on behalf of the University of Arizona, wish to enter into this Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) to amend the Town's membership to Water CASA; and WHEREAS, the Water CASA is designed to improve the effectiveness ofmurdcipal water conservation efforts through close collaboration between the University of Arizona and the Town of Marana; and WHEREAS, the Town originally authorized the Mayor to execute membership to Water CASA on the 19th day May, 1998, by Resolution Number 98-49, and the renewal of this IGA shall become effective upon adoption by all parties and recording the executed IGA with the Pima County Recorder's Office; and WHEREAS, The IGA shall continue in full force and effect until May 18, 2001, or until sooner terminated pursuant to this IGA, and may be renewed upon agreement of the parties; and WHEREAS, it would benefit the Town of Marana and it's residents to participate with the University of Arizona in Water CASA. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, approving and authorizing the Intergovernmental Agreement between the Town of Marana and the University of Arizona for renewal of membership to the Water Conservation Alliance of Southern Arizona. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Town staff is authorized to execute said Intergovernmental Agreement on behalf of the Town of Marana. *,a~.~n~ ~,ri~'nna Resolution No. 99-70 Page I of 2 PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, this 6th day of July, 1999.
