HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 99-120 appointment of water utility advisory membersMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 99-120 A RESOLUTION OF TIlE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF TIlE TOWN OF MARAN& ARIZONA, APPOINTING THREE MARANA WATER UTILITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE MEMBERS FOR A PERIOD OF THREE YEARS AND ONE MEMBER TO FILL A VACANCY FOR A PERIOD OF TWO YEARS. WHEREAS, pursuant to Section 14-2-3 of the Marana Town Code, the Mayor and Town Council are empowered to appoint the Marana Water-Utility Advisory Committee Members through a majority vote; and WHEREAS, the terms of three of the seven Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee Members expire on December 31, 1999 and one vacancy already exists; and WHEREAS, two Members whose terms expire, Mr. Robert Condit and Ms. Betty Horrigan, are agreeable to reappointment to the Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee; and WHEREAS, three additional individuals who have expressed a desire to serve on the Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee are Mr. Tim Escobedo, Ms. Jo Rex and Ms. Sherry Rollins; and WHEREAS, at a public meeting held December 14, 1999, the Mayor and Town Council heard from representatives of the Water Department and/or the prospective members to the Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee regarding the qualifications and background of the prospective members, and thereafter conducted a vote to determine which four applicants would be appointed to the Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona, hereby appoint Mr. Robert Condit, Ms. Betty Horfigan and Ms. Jo Rex to the Marana Water Utility Advisory Committee, for a period of three years, said term to expire on December 31, 2002, and Ms. Sherry Rollins to fill a vacancy, said term to expire on December 31, 2001.
