HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 98-066 state housing fund programMARANA RESOLUTION NO. 98-66 A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AUTHORIZING THE SUBMISSION OF AN APPLICATION FOR THE STATE HOUSING FUND PROGRAM AND ALL ACTIONS NECESSARY TO IMPLEMENT THE ACTIVITIES OUTLINED IN SAID APPLICATION AS WELL AS CERTIFYING THAT SAID APPLICATION. WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana are desirous of undertaking affordable housing development programs through the State Housing Fund, administered by the State of Arizona, which is required to benefit lo;v income households; and WHEREAS, the application for State Housing Fund Program may include federal funding through the HOME Investment Partnership Program of State Housing Funds; and WHEREAS, the recipient of State Housing Fund Program is required to comply with the program guidelines, State and Federal Statutes and regulations; and WHEREAS, the State Housing Fund Program would greatly benefit the citizens of the Town of Marana and would be in the Town's best interest. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana, Arizona authorizing the submission of an application for the State Housing Fund Program and Town staff to take all actions necessary to implement the activities outlined in said application as well as certifying that said application. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana will comply with all State Housing Fund Program guidelines, State and Federal Statutes and regulations applicable to the State Housing Fund Program, which may include HOME Investment Partnership Program and State Housing Trust Fund, and the certifications contained in the application. Her parents built a home in Marana Vista Estates, utilizing sweat equity constructing their home through a Federally subsidized Home Program. Katy has worked for*he Marana Unified School District, The Town of Marana's and Pima County's Af'terschool Program and Summer Youth Programs. She has served on the Town of Marana's Planning and Zoning Commission. Dan Groseclose 14200 W. Imo~coe Place. Marana. Arizona 85653 682-5334 Dan has lived in Marana for 22 years. He worked for Valley National Bank of Arizona for 22 years as a' Customer Service Manager and during the last 4 years served as Grant Administrator ~or the Town of Marana. As Grant Administrator, he has worked with low/moderate citizens housing rehabilitation and the Town's Firs~ Time Homebuyer's Program. He was a Town of Marana Councilmember for 5 years and has served on various committees including planning and Zoning, Budget, Flood Control and Bank protection. Dick Gear 5940 N. Camino Esplendora. Tucson. Ariz 85718 Dick brings many years of experience working with housing and low/moderate income citizens. He was a Vice President and loan officer for a local savings and loan, specializing with low income lending to citizens in Tucson and Green Valley. He spent two yem-s as *he Housing Director of the Tucson Indian Center which included planning and executing an affordable housing program and also worked with South Tucson's Emergency. Home Repair program. Mike Reuwsaat 14399-2 N. Wentz Road. Marana. Arizona 85653 6824436 Mike, a current Town Councilmember and has lived in Marana for over 4 years. He previously held city and county administrative positions in Corpus Christi and Padre Island, Texas for over 13 years. During that time Mike worked on various low income housing projects. Ora Ham 11971 W. Grier Road, Maran~a, Arizona 6~82-3183 Ora, current Mayor of Marana, has served for many years as Town Councilmember and Mayor. She is a long time resident and is Executive Director of the Marana Health Center where she has been actively involved with low/moderate income citizens for many years. She established the Marana Food Bank and also serves on the Tucson Food Bank Board of Directors. Nelia Castillo 13440 W. Price Lane. IVlarana. Arizona 85653 682-4421 Nelia has lived in Marana for over 43 ),ears and lives in a neighborhood that is predominately low/moderatc income.
