A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA,
ARIZONA, ADOPTING THE REVISED EASTERN PIMA COUNTY TRAIL SYSTEM
MASTER PLAN.
WHEREAS, in 1989 the Pima County Parks and Recreation Department developed and
adopted the Eastern Plma County Trail System Master Plan ('the Plan") in order to effectively
inventory, protect, provide public access to, and serve as an official guide to the wide variety of
hiking, horseback, tiding, biking and historic trails located within the boundaries of Eastern Pima
County; and
WHEREAS, in 1996 the Pima County Parks and Recreation Department updated and re-
adopted the l~a~tem Pima County Trail System Master Plan in order to bring it current and make
it even more useful to the public; and
WHEREAS, a significant number of the trails designated in the Plan pass through the
Town of Mararia, and it would be beneficial to the Town to be aware of these designated trails
when making development and other plans for the Town; and
WI-IEREAS, the Mararia Planning Commission conside~xl the adoption of the Plan on June
25, 1997, and voted 5 to 0 to recommend that the Town Council adopt the Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Town of Mararia wishes to work with Plma County in order that its
citizens may also benefit from the services provided by Pima County in the implementation of the
Revised Eastern Pima County Trail System Master Plan, and it is in the best interests of the Town
that its citizens benefit from these services.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, adopting the Revised Eastern Pima County Trail System Master Plan.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Mararia, Arizona,
this 5~ day of August, 1997.
