ORDER OF BUSINESS A. Discussion- FY 2000-01 Budget Review (Roy Cuaron) Mr. Hein briefly explained the different components of the budget funding process. He commented that this budget was realistic yet cautious. Mr. Cuaron gave a short overview of the proposed budget as well as the revenue estimates for the upcoming fiscal year. He agreed with Mr. Hein that the upcoming year's budget was conservative. MINUTES OF COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MARANA TOWN COUNCIL APRIL 4, 2000 The Council members discussed various items from the proposed budget. These items included construction taxes, retail sales taxes, investment incomes, and the transportation fund. Mr. Cuaron continued with the overview touching on topics such as the projected income from water systems acquisition, bond prOCeeds, and special revenues. He said that there was a 41% increase in the 1999-2000 budget over the 1998-1999 budget. The Council members continued to exchange comments and ideas regarding various budget items and had a brief discussion regarding the design and construction timeline for the new municipal complex. The entire Council commended Mr. Cuaron and Mr. Hein on the extensive work that they both had put into the budgeting prOCess. There was no further discussion. VI. ADIOURNMENT Upon motion by Council Member Honea, seconded by Council Member Kai, adjournment of the study session was unanimously approved. The time was 7:52 p.m. CERTIFICATION I hereby certify that the foregoing minutes are the true and correct minutes of the Marana Town Council Study Session held on April 4, 2000.
