HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 2009-011 amendment to the classified salary schedule for FY 2008-2009MARANA RESOLUTION N0.2009-11 RELATING TO PERSONNEL; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO THE CLASSIFIED SALARY SCHED1ILE FOR FY 2008-2009 ADOPTED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL ON AUGUST 12, 2008; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY WHEREAS the Marana Town Code, Section 3-3-1, provides that the Town Council shall adopt a personnel system for classified employees of the Town; and WHEREAS on August 12, 2008, the Town Council adopted a classified salary schedule for FY 2008-2009; and WHEREAS the Town's Personnel Policies and Procedures, Policy 3-3, provides that the Town Manager shall ensure the preparation, development and maintenance of the classification plan; and WHEREAS the Town's Personnel Policies and Procedures, Section 3-3-2, provides that amendments to the classification plan require the approval of the Town Council; and WHEREAS the Town Council finds that amending the Town's classification plan as set forth in this resolution is in the best interests of the Town and its residents. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Town of Marana hereby approves the amended classified salary schedule, attached to and incorporated by this reference in this resolution as Exhibit A. SECTION 2. The Town's Manager and staff are hereby directed and authorized to undertake all other and further tasks required or beneficial to implement the amended classified salary schedule in Exhibit A. SECTION 3. Since it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana that this resolution become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
