Marana Munici~l Mater ~ ~ Update On Water Quality - DiscussioPZA.ction Hurvie Davis addressed the Council briefly reviewing what has transpired since the testing results of one of the wells in Honea Heights which tested higher than the allowable limit for ni- trates. The Town has had both Honea Heights wells tested again the east well tested 5.4 parts per million and the west well tested 10.1 parts per million which is just slightly over the limit of 10.0 parts per million. Joel Rose 1434 E. 13th, Tucson, AZ Joel Rose addressed the Council explaining the requirements the Town has had to follow and that the Town has followed them to the letter, Hugh Holub, Town of Marana Water Attorney Hugh Holub also addressed the Council further explaining the testing process and requirements the Town must follow. Hugh Holub also stated the Town must move away from the river and sink a new well in the future. 2 MINUTES O~F ~EGUL.A~ COUNCIL MEETING~ MARANA TOWN COUNCIL ~CTOBER i9~ 1993 Permanent Status Of Santa Cruz ~ Water District Discus$ion/8~tion A motion was made by Ed Honea, seconded by Betty Horrigan and carried unanimously to approve Resolution 93-34 authorizing the Town of Marana to adopt a permanent plan relating to the Santa Cruz Valley Water District, subject to a permanent plan address- ing Marana's concerns. C~ piscussion and Action Regarding Hiring Outside ~ Council To R~pres¢.o~ Narana Zn The Event Of A Protest Pend- i~ Annexation A motion was made by Helen Key, seconded by Ed Honea and carried unanimously to authorize the Town Manager to enter into an agree- merit with Lewis and Rocha as outside counsel. ~ QuoP~e.~ H~.t. Lease ~reement A motion was made by Helen Key, seconded by Tom Clark to lease agreement between the Town of Marana and (SVP) Southwest Value Partners for use of the Continental Ranch Quonset Hut. The motion fails 3 to 2 with Ed Honea~ Sharon Price and Betty Horrigan voting nay. ~ Bureau Of Justice Assistance - ¢olice Hiring ~rogra~ A motion was made by Ed Honea, seconded by Betty Horrigan and carried unanimously that the Council endorse the Police Depart- ments efforts in submitting the grant request for the Bureau of Justice Assistance, Police Hiring Supplement Program.
