Lt. Col. Richard Murphy gave a brief history of the proposed
~'equest and process that the Army National Guard has been going
threugh ·
Lt:. Col. Murphy also stated that onc:e the draft document
complete there will be additional formal public hearings sLar~ing
sometime after February, he also stated that the investigation
of the Ma,'ama Gunnery Range has stopped but is not eliminated due
to air traffic from Phoenix~ Tucson and Marana areas. This
process should be completed by Octobe~ 1994.
B ....... ~pdate ol_f! Flood Control For 'The bower Santa ~ruz [River
Nurvie Davis addressed the Council updating them on the Flood
Control For The Lo~,~er Santa Cruz River· He also stated that Pima
County has $3.8 Million of County Flood Control District money in
tile budget for this project and that the Board of Supervisors
kgould be considering taking $3.55 Hillion allocated te the Santa
Cruz project and use it on the Tanque Verde Road Bridge. Hurvie
Davis and Ora Ham attended the Board o{ Supervisors meeting and
the 8card of Supervisors voted not 'to use the Santa Cruz proSeok
}h4rvie Davis stated that He hope te get the first part ef the
project to extend as far as the langerine Land Fi~l but it k~l
depend on hoH much land kge can get dedicated. He hope to start
meeting k~ith the property oHners shortly after the first ef
September .

A motion was made by Ed Honea, seconded by Betty Horrigan ants
carried unanimously to direct staff to research khe SB,O00 ~e-
maining in the Et:chemic Development Loan Fund and see if we can
Find a process by which we can transfer that money to the G~eater
Marana/Avra Valley Chamber of Commerce.
E. Proposed Modification To The Town of Malaria's Animal Cord?,-ol
ordinance.
A motion was made by Ed Honea~ seconded by Helen Key and carried
unanimously to direct the Town Attorney to prepare a neb~ Animal
Control Ordinance for review by the Town Council at the September
7, 1993 Council Meeting.
Vice Mayor Sharon Price stated that Congressman Kolbe will be
addressing the issues ef the Free Trade Agreement, Budget and
Health Care Referm at Kolbe's Town Hall, September 2~ 1993 at

A motion was made by Helen Key, seconded by Ed Honea and carried
unanimously to authorize Mayor Ora M. Ham to vote on behalf of
the Marana Town Council at the Reselution Committee of the League
of Arizona Cities and Towns.

He stated the as of today we have 58 signatures of the 136
required for the annexation and }g~ of the accessed valuation,
,$3.6 million and we have a long ways to go.
