APPROVAL OF MINUTES A motion was made by Helen Key, seconded by Sharon Price and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of July 6, 1993 with the following correction to Item VII. first paragraph: Mr· Bris- bine addressed the Council regardin~ his concerns that there may be building code violation in "Continental Ranch" VII. PETITIONS AND COMMENTS None VIII. ANNOUNCEMENTS Mayor Ora Ham reported on the success of the Health was held at the Marana Health Center. B. Linda Vista-Hartman Lane Rezonin~ Hurvie Davis introduced this item stating that New World Develop- ment is requesting to rezone 156 acres in the southwest Corner of Linde Vista Blvd. and Hartman Read from "C" zone to MR-l, R-6 and VC. The development is to provide for single family detached homes R-6 6000 square feet minimum lot size on approximately 130 acres MR-1 Multi-family on approximately 11 acres and VC VilJ. age Commercial on approximately 15 acres. Nikki Chayet, 5312 W. Fireopal, Tucson, AZ 85741 Nikki ChaFer addressed the Council expressing her concerns: Traffic; Schools for the future students and land for construc- tion and increase in gang activity. Carl Winters 270 N. Church, Tucson, AZ Carl Winters addressed the Council stating that the items need to be resolved prior to any construction Sewer, water~ access issues plus others. following activity: Mayor Ora Ham requested that Mr. Carl Winters contact the Marana School District regarding this housing development. A motion was made by Eddie Honea, seconded by Tom Clark and carried unanimously to approve the Linde Vista/Hartman Lane rezoning from "C" zone to MR-l, R-6 and VC Village Commercial, provided that they comply with the nine staff recommendations and that the Marana School District be notified of the development prior to construction. Dan Hec:huii stated that ne will ~rin8 back to the Council a sum~ mary of the differences between tile Town's Animal Control Code and Pisa County's code. Back~ ~! Ti~e:S:lO fer Vice ~ P_lr_roposed Easement For Recreational/Golf Course Purposes Continental Ranch Hurvie Davis stated that he and Dan Hochuli have met with ~aneh ltoidings representative and that he and Dan are stilA review tills issue and ~ill be back before the Council soon· ~_~ ~piernen%_,Sn.g~ Comp~.z3~g, Mon i~torin_~q And Fundin~ The Americans ~itn Disabilities Act ~DA~ A motion Was made by Helen Key~ seconded by ~d Bonea and carried unanimously to appoint Daniel Hochuli and Associates as ADA Coordinator for FY 1993-94. ~ Annexation Ron Cavig~ia~ Tucson Eon Cavigiia thanked Hurvie Davis for a~l his efforts on this annexation project. Ron stated that ~e are currently at 55 signatures and $4,150,000 accessed value. He also added that every single person in the annexation area has been contacted a ~inimum of twice and as many as six times. Hurvie Davis expressed his appreciation for the teamwork effort of everyone involved~ ~ Resolution No. 93--31 Adoption of 93-94 Bu~ge~ A motion ~ae made by Ed Honea, seconded by To~ Clark arid carried unanimously to approve Resolution 93-31 for the adoption of fiscal year 1993-94 Budget. and move $10,000 from the contingency fund identify ii] as a line item for ADA. Ora Ham addressed the Council explaining the Municipal Policy Statement and asked if anyone wanted to put through a resolutiol], to please centact her. J. Marana Town Council/Staff Retreat Critic~% Hurvie Davis stated that over all the retreat was excellent but there was not enough time to cover other isst~es such as annexa- tion policies, update the general plan, session with the League of Cities and Towns. Bandy Groseclose suggested that a quarterly Ccuncil/~,ta[f Round Table be reinstated as there was not time for Department Heads to discuss their concerns. ~ Ma_~or'! R__qporA Copy on file.
