January 11: 1~ Emergency Miout~ C. 3anuar~ 19, 19~3~ Regular Minutes A. motion was made by Eddie Honea~ seconded by Sill Schisier and carried unanimously to approve the minutes of 3anuary 5~ 1993~ January 11, 1993 and 3anuary 19~ 1993 as submitted. MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING~ MARANA TOWN COUNCZL FEBRUARY ~ 1993 VII. PETITIONS ANO COMMENTS Patricia Williams, 14495 N. Warfield Circle, Marana Patricia Williams addressed the Council stating she represented the Adonis Home Owners Association and was requesting that the Council approve the Community Development Block Grant that would result in Adonis Road being paved. Ina Thornydale Annexation - Stabu~ Re_~ Town Manager Hurvie Davis updated the Council on the Annexation, stating that the annexation should be in place by the end of the fiscal year which could generate revenues in excess of $2,000,000.00. B__. Marana Municipal PropeKt~ Co~oratipR A_p~ointmmot q.D~ Term Vacate~ Director Positions Mayor Ora Nam asked that each Council Member come back to the next Council meeting with recommendations. C. Pool/Park Committee R~port Council Member Betty Horrigan, Chairperson for this committee, reported on the progress of the committee and that the following individuals are members of that committee: Doug Mostyn, Bob Kern, Pat Sofia, Bob McCrea, Bill Lorefice, K.T. Berry, Eve Grove, and Rene Basile-Bearse. ~ motion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Eddie Honea and carried unanimously for appointment of these individuals as mem~ bets of the Marana Pool and Park Committee. D. Resolution 9__3-04 - Su_w_p~iortin_~q Senate Bill 1055 - /o~t Reform A motion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Helen Key and carried unanimously to approve Resolution No. 93-04 Supporting Senate Bill ~055 on Tort Reform and to inform our State delega- tion and the League of Arizona Cities and Towns of our support. 2 MINUTES OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEE_____T. IUG~ MARANA TOWN COUNCIL FEBRUARY ~6__~ 1993 ~ Proclamation - child Passenger Safetx Awareness Police Chief David Smith and Police Officer Bill Derfus presented a visual demonstration to simulate a 30 mile per hour crash with a seat belt and without a seat belt. Officer Oerfus stated that this demonstration is done in the DARE classes at Estes Elemen- tary School and Marana Junior High and has gotten his students attention. A motion was made by Eddie Honea, seconded by Betty Horrigan and carried unanimously to proclaim February 1993, as Child Passenger Safety Awareness Month. F. Fur.ute Marana Volunteer Fire Department_ L ~iscuss~io~n Council Member Bill Schisler stated that a Municipal Volunteer Fire Department would be the most economical way to go in the future when funds are available. Special Census Possible For Town Of Marana A motion was made by Helen Key, seconded by Bill Schisler and carried unanimously to explore further the benefits and costs of a 1995 Special Census for the Town of Marana and that this matter be brought back to the Council at the appropriate time.
