approve the Minutes of Regular Meeting of December with one typo

A ~otion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Helen Key and
carried unanimously to go into Public Hearing. Time=7:10 P.M~

Eva Grove requested CD8G fundS for Street Lights in Marana Vista
area as well as street Curbs and Fire Hydrants.

Kevin O~Connell reinforced the request for Marana Vista.
3. Bob McCrea, 13950 W. Grier Rd. ~ Marana
800 McCrea suggested the Town request funds not only for road
projects but also for marking roads ( paint and raised markers)

Ora Harn requested CDBG funds for the Marana Health Center Pre-
scription drugs for Senlors and a roaa to be constructed to
provide access to the Business area by the MUPI building and the
Paul Little Company WhlCh would relieve traffic on Amole Circle~

Bill Schisler requested funds for needed improvements tor the
Marana ~unicipal Water SystemM
A motion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Doug Mostyn
carried 0nanimously to come out of the Public Hearing on

-Eddie Honea complemented and thanked the Public Works Superl~-
tendent Bob Kern and his staff as well as Po:ice Chief Dave
Smith and his staff for a~l the long hours ana hard work they

Eddie Honea also suggested the Town move forward ana move quickly
for assistance through the Federal and State Disaster Assistance
Program especially for the Cortaro and Interstate-l0; Honea
Heights (North side of Santa Cruz River); and the Berry Acres
bank protection..
Eddie Honea stated that jacks need to be placed further south of
the Sanders Road Bridqe and the channel needs to be cleaned~
under the emergency measures of endangering property a~d :ives..
The Town also needs to cheCK with the Town attorney regarding th6
~ effluent, comifig fro,n t.;le City' of 7u.cson.. ~Jhich CaL!SeS trees and
brush to grow which caused more prOblems with the free flo~ of
t. he ~\Ja ter ..
Bill Schisler also complemented the staff and suggested the
current jacks in the river be checked to see it they are stili in
good shape..
Helen Key thanKed the staff as well as those on the Council tor
all the work and hours they put in..
Betty Horrigan thanKed the staff and the citizens for the~r nard
work and for keeping their coo:..

Bureau of Reclamation program which could provide substantial
dollars_
Peter Livingston, of CH2M Hi~l, 2711 N. Kiva P~., 7~CSOG
looking at a possibility of bringing in federal funding to solve
the long range plan for securing bank protection along the Santa
Cruz RiverN This project includes bank protection~ replacemenL
of ditches as necessary x The federal funding is tied to agricul-
tural so that is why Cartaro Irrigation District is a good compa~-
ny to co-sponsor thisx

BOb Charlie stated this is The Sma:l Reclamation Project Act a~so
r-'" referred to as Public La~t.,j 9084 _ The Bureau of Reclamation acts
as a banker to insure that the Federal Government is paid back..

carried unanimously to approve Reso:ution 93-01. MANAGEMENT AN8
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR SANTA CRUZ RIVER W:TH:N OR ADJACENT TO THE
TOWN OF MARANA BETWEEN THE TOWN OF MARANA AND THE P:MA COU~~y
BOARD OF SUPERV:SORS~ authorizing the Mayor to sign the :GA ana
present it to the Pima County Board of S~pervisors.
Eddie Honea asked that researCh be done upstream and flow and who
is responsible for current conditions.

carried unanimously to approve AlterGative #2 - Mid August Budget
Adoption as follows:
April 30 All departmental budgets submitted to 70wn Manaqer
May 31 Review ana revise (with dept. heads) oudget.
June 30 Hold Public Hearings as necessary.
July 19 Adopt tentative budget.
August 16 - Adopt final budget.

A motion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Doug Mostyn to
retain the services of Mr. Hugh Holub to advise and represent the
Town of Marana on water issues at $500.0C per month, effective
February 1, 1993 for one year. The motion carried ~itn Betty
Horrigan and Eddie Honea voting nay.

Hurvie Davis addressed the ~oGnci~ gi~ing some baCKground-~f the
Santa Cruz Valley Water District and asked the Council to express
any concerns they might have regarding the Districtinq.

Bill Schisler suggested we ask the school for some help in t,e
operation of the pool.
Doug Mostyn asked Yurvie )avis to follow ~p ~ith the Chamber of
Commerce regarding an individual doing graduate study in communi-
ty development programs, specifical:y targetlng pools.
Ora Harn stated that the School is requesting a grant to fund the
tralning of st0dents to become :ife guards.
Eddie Honea suggested creative grant requests fOi- 1993 CDBG.
Betty Horrigan suggested a committee to be formed to :ook i~to
ways to fund the pool.
Doug Mostyn volunteered to serve on the committee
Horrigan.

at 340.25 hours for time spent on CDBG programs~ manuals, forms,
etc.
A motion was made by Eddie Honea, seconded by Sharon Price a~d
carrIed unanimously to authorize the transfer of unusea dollars
