A ~otion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Helen Key and carried unanimously to go into Public Hearing. Time=7:10 P.M~ :. Eva Grove, 13735 N. Jarvis Court~ Marana Eva Grove requested CD8G fundS for Street Lights in Marana Vista area as well as street Curbs and Fire Hydrants. 2. Kevin O'Connell, 1360~ N. Reyher, Marana, AZ Kevin O~Connell reinforced the request for Marana Vista. 3. Bob McCrea, 13950 W. Grier Rd. ~ Marana 800 McCrea suggested the Town request funds not only for road projects but also for marking roads ( paint and raised markers) ~ 4N Dan Groseclose~ 14200 W. Imogene Pl, Marana Dan Groseclose requested the Town request money for the folloWlnq projects: 1N Housing RehabIlitation; 2. Emergency Home Repair~ 3M Community Center5 4_ Park Equipment~ 5w Economic Development., 5. Ora Harn, 11971 w. Grier Rd.~ Marana (Mayor Har~ Dassed tne gavel to the Vice Mayor and stepped down from the dais) Ora Harn requested CDBG funds for the Marana Health Center Pre- scription drugs for Senlors and a roaa to be constructed to provide access to the Business area by the MUPI building and the Paul Little Company WhlCh would relieve traffic on Amole Circle~ 6. Bill Schlsler~ Counci: Member Bill Schisler requested funds for needed improvements tor the Marana ~unicipal Water SystemM A motion was made by Bill Schisler, seconded by Doug Mostyn carried 0nanimously to come out of the Public Hearing on grant requests. Eddie Honea also suggested the Town move forward ana move quickly for assistance through the Federal and State Disaster Assistance Program especially for the Cortaro and Interstate-l0; Honea Heights (North side of Santa Cruz River); and the Berry Acres bank protection.. Eddie Honea stated that jacks need to be placed further south of the Sanders Road Bridqe and the channel needs to be cleaned~ under the emergency measures of endangering property a~d :ives.. The Town also needs to cheCK with the Town attorney regarding th6 ~ effluent, comifig fro,n t.;le City' of 7u.cson.. ~Jhich CaL!SeS trees and brush to grow which caused more prOblems with the free flo~ of t. he ~\Ja ter .. Bill Schisler also complemented the staff and suggested the current jacks in the river be checked to see it they are stili in good shape.. Helen Key thanKed the staff as well as those on the Council tor all the work and hours they put in.. Betty Horrigan thanKed the staff and the citizens for the~r nard work and for keeping their coo:.. Robert Condit, 12523 W.. Moore Rd.., Marana Bureau of Reclamation program which could provide substantial dollars_ Peter Livingston, of CH2M Hi~l, 2711 N. Eddie Honea asked that researCh be done upstream and flow and who is responsible for current conditions. June 30 Hold Public Hearings as necessary. July 19 Adopt tentative budget. Doug Mostyn asked Yurvie )avis to follow ~p ~ith the Chamber of Commerce regarding an individual doing graduate study in communi- ty development programs, specifical:y targetlng pools. Ora Harn stated that the School is requesting a grant to fund the tralning of st0dents to become :ife guards. Eddie Honea suggested creative grant requests fOi- 1993 CDBG. Betty Horrigan suggested a committee to be formed to :ook i~to ways to fund the pool. Doug Mostyn volunteered to serve on the committee Horrigan. .
