DISCUSSION To provide a professional, quality, and productive workplace, it is recommended that there be a restriction on children and non-employees in the workplace. The Town recognizes that family responsibilities impinge on all aspects of an individual's life and that family responsibilities can affect staff. However, under the Occupational Safety and Health Action (1984), the Town must provide premises that are as safe as is practicable for both employees and non-employees. Accordingly, Section 1-2-10 of the Personnel Policies has been amended to restrict the time and circumstances that children and non-employees can visit an employee in the workplace. Staff will bring this item back to Council for approval and adoption at the December 20, 2005 meeting. ATTACHMENTS Proposed amendment to Personnel Policy 1-2-10. RECOMMENDATION None required.
