SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2005-150: Relating to Personnel; approving and
authorizing an additional holiday for Town employees on Decem-
ber 23, 2005.
DISCUSSION:
In appreciation of the work done by Town employees during 2005 and in lieu of a holiday party,
the Mayor and Council would like to extend an additional paid holiday to employees on Decem-
ber 23, 2005.
RECOMMENDATION
Brought by Council.

I move to approve Resolution No. 2005-150.
MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2005-150

RELATING TO PERSONNEL; APPROVING AND AUTHORIZING AN ADDITIONAL
HOLIDAY FOR TOWN EMPLOYEES ON DECEMBER 23, 2005.
WHEREAS, Town of Marana employees have continued to be positive, professional
and strived to provide the very best in public services; and
WHEREAS, in 2005, the traditional paid holiday of December 25 falls on a Sunday;
and
WHEREAS, the Mayor and Council would like to acknowledge the dedication of all
Town employees by giving them an additional day to spend with their families during the
holiday season.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of
Marana, Arizona, that Friday, December 23, 2005, be declared a special paid one-time
holiday.
Section 1: The Town will treat this day similarly to other paid holidays and be closed
for business.
Section 2: Personnel such as police and emergency community responders will
receive compensatory time up to eight hours’ straight time, to be used by the end of 2005.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona this 6th day of December, 2005.
