PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE Led by Mayor Sutton III. GENERAL ORDER OF BUSINESS A. COUNCIL ACTION FY 2001-02 Budget: Council review of departmental budgets Mr. Hein quickly recapped the budget process and commented that, after utilizing the present formula through three budgetary cycles, there had been a stabilization of the line item analysis. He said that he was pleased with the responses from each department. Aside from one major addition, a line item of $8M to accommodate budget capacity for community facilities districts, and a few minor fluctuations of the proposed budget, there were no significant differences from earlier budget projections. MINUTES OF COUNCIL STUDY SESSION MEETING nIARANA TOWN .HALL MAY 15, 2001 The meeting progressed with Mr. Hein giving a synopsis of each department's budget. He pointed out that there existed a great opportunity for the Parks and Recreation and the Police departments to be the marquee departments in the Town as far as public services were concerned. He commented that this strategy was vital in marketing Marana. Mr. Reuwsaat added that the GIS department was in the process of putting together promotional materials highlighting certain park projects. He remarked that professionally prepared informational materials such as this were planned for future distribution in order to promote offered products and ensure a successful future for the growing community. There was an overall consensus of approval of the departmental budgets submitted and the study session concluded. XI. ADJOURNMENT Upon motion by Council Member Honea and seconded by Council Member Blake, the Council voted unanimously to adjourn the meeting at 7:10 p.m. CERTIFICATION I hereby certify that the foregoing are the true and correct minutes of the Marana Town Council meeting held on May 15, 2001.
