WILLIAM DERFUS, PROPOSED NEW MARANA POLICE DEPARTMENT'S D.A.R.E. OFFICER Interim Chief, Da a Bradshaw, introduced Mr. William Derfus to the.. council. Mr. Derfus graduated 2nd in his class from the D.A.R. E. program.. CITIZEN BUDGET COMMITTEE'S F:Y. 1991-92 TENTATIVE BUDGET RECOM- MENDATION Billy Worthy 14999 N. Sandario Rd. addressed the Council "and rescinded his previous approval to hire a police officer and..: proposed the dollars saved be applied to the Streets and Roads Department to hire 2 employees. Terry Bown also made a-.brief statement tothe council... MARANA MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM FINANCIAL REPORT Roy Laos, .Town Manager reported to the. council on the placement of the new water line. and the problems it has been causing. MARANA MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM "AGREEMENT FOR PERSONAL SERVICES", CONTRACT AMENDMENTS A motion was made by Jo Rex and seconded. by Elwin Clifton,Jr. to continue the negotiations with Mr. Groseclose. The motion car-' vied unanimously... MARANA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT, INC. FINANCIAL REPORT Chief Richard Insalaco, presented information o~ the financial report and .added that Barbara Wilson will be formally .appointed at their next meeting of the Fire Department. The motion carried unanimously. MARANA VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT., INC. REQUEST. FOR TOWN COUNCIL APPROVAL FOR 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS. DISPLAY. Chief. Richard Insalaco, reported to the council that Liberty Ins is providing coverage for the 4th. of July Fireworks display. A motion was made by Bi11 `Schisler and seconded by Doug,Mostyn to approve the 4th of July fireworks display. 4 MINUTES. OF REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING, MARANA TOWN COUNCIL JULY 2 , " 19 91 BREAK AT 8:40 BACK IN SESSION AT 8:55 EMPLOYEE RESIDENCY REQUIREMENTS - FURTHER CONSIDERATION A motion was made: by Eddie.Honea and seconded by Bill Schisler that the .Town Clerkand The Chief of.Police be required to .live within. the Marana School District .within one year from date of hire. An amendment to .the motion was made by Bill Schisler and seconded by Eddie Hones to add this is considered the. first: reading. The motion failed 6 to 0. A motion was made by Bill Schisler and'seconded by Doug Mostyn to direct the Town Manager to word the residency requirements for a personnel policy change and bring it back to ,,the council. The vote was 5 I and Jo Rex voted nay. APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO TOWN PERSONNEL POLICY 02.06.02 (B) A motion. was made by Bill Schisler and seconded by Doug Mostyn to approve wording of Personnel Policy.02.06.02. The motion carried unanimously. ~~ APPROVAL OF AMENDMENTS TO TOWN PERSONNEL. POLICY 01.03.01 AND 01.03.05, PERTAINING TO THE JOB OF THE TOWN CLERK A motion was made by .Bill Schisler and seconded by Doug.Mostyn to approve .the amendments to the Town Personnel Policy 01.03.01.. AND 01..02..05, pertaining to the job of-the Town Clerk including' an addition in the paragraph talking to the meetings the Clerk would attend to include. only the Standing Town Committees and Commissions. TOWN MANAGER UP-DATE ON POLICE CHIEF/FINANCIAL ANALYST SELECTION' PROCESS The Town Manager, Roy Laos, reported the the selections inter- .views for the Financial Analyst would be July 3, 1991 at 6:30 P.M. and the the selection interviews. for he Chief of Police would. be July l5, 1991 at 6:30 P.M.
