HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/07/2006 Blue Sheet Requests for Additional Personnel TOWN COUNCIL MEETING INFORMATION TOWN OF MARAN A MEETING DATE: February 7, 2006 AGENDA ITEM: K. 3 TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: Regina Fleming, Human Resources Director SUBJECT: Discussion and Direction: Requests for Additional Personnel DISCUSSION: The following positions were not included in the FY approved budget but are requested as a mid-year allocation: IT Department - Computer Technician/Part Time Secretary Operations & Maintenance Department - Facilities Technician Planning Department - Office Support Clerk/Planner II/Planner III/Principal Planner Public Works Engineering - Assistant Director of Public Works/Town Engineer/Assistant Direc- tor of Public Works/Cultural Resources Manager/Engineering Technician/Engineering Aide Estimated fiscal impact of the twelve requests would be as follows: Computer Technician: $36,562 Minimum + $10,969 Benefits + $3,500 Workstation = $51,031 Part Time Secretary: $11,435 Minimum + (No Benefits) + $2,000 Workstation = $13,435 Facilities Technician: $27,865 Minimum + $8,360 Benefits + $2,500 Workstation = $38,725 Office Support Clerk: $21,237 Minimum + $6,371 Benefits + N/A Workstation = $27,608 Planner II: $46,802 Minimum + $14,041 Benefits + $3,420 Workstation = $64,263 Planner III/Principal Planner: $54,276 Minimum + $16,283 Benefits + $6,970 Workstation = $77,529 Assistant Director of Public Works/Town Engineer: $85,000 Unclassified + $25,500 Benefits + $10,300 Workstation = $120,800 {OOOOOJOO.DOC /} FJC/cds Assistant Director of Public Works: $79,611 Minimum + $23,883 Benefits + $300 Workstation = $103,794 Cultural Resources Manager: $57,024 Minimum + $17,107 Benefits + $10,500 Workstation = $84,631 Engineering Technician: $39,373 Minimum + $11,812 Benefits + $7,860 Workstation $59,045 Engineering Aide: $30,758 Minimum + $9,227 Benefits + $3,000 Workstation = $42,985 Construction Manager, CIP: $57,024 Minimum + $17,107 Benefits + $25,000 Truck = $99,131 Total Annual Costs for above positions: $782,977 Fiscal Year Impact for the remainder of the year: $326,240 RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends authorization to hire a Computer Technician, Part Time Secretary, Facilities Technician, Office Support Clerk, Planner II and Planner III/Principal Planner, Assistant Direc- tor of Public Works/Town Engineer, Assistant Director of Public Works, Cultural Resources Manager, Engineering Technician, Engineering Aide and Construction Manager with an esti- mated fiscal impact of $326,240.
