The summit provided an opportunity for stakeholders to create the vision for regional transportation planning. We appreciate your support of this exciting planning effort and hereby reiterate our commitment to fund the development of a regional transportation plan. Multiple small area transportation studies are currently underway within Pinal County an.d the recommendations from these studies will provide the foundation for the regional transportation plan. As discussed at the summit, the next step in developing the regional transportation plan is to identify regionally significant routes. To begin this process, we need to identify key stakeholders to participate in the study and ask for their commitment to the study. This will be accomplished through the execution of a resolution of support to develop a regional transportation plan and to designate an initial point of ' contact for the study. A sample resolution is enclosed for your use. Please submit your fully executed resolution of support to Kathy Borquez, Pinal County Department of Public Works, P. O. Box 727, Florence, AZ, 85232 by Monday, April 24, 2006. If you have questions with the enclosed information, please contact Kathy at 520"866"6406 or kathy .borquez@co.pinal.az.us. The future of Pinal County will surely be challenging but we believe that together we can create a better transportation system for the region. Your commitment to develop a regional transportation plan is greatly appreciated.
