HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/15/2005 Blue Sheet Re-formatted Town Code TOWN COUNCIL MEETING INFORMATION TOWN OF MARANA MEETING DATE: November 15,2005 AGENDA ITEM: J. 6 TO: MAYOR AND COUNCIL FROM: Frank Cassidy, Town Attorney SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2005-144: Relating to Administration; declaring the redline and fmal versions of the re-formatted Town Code as public records filed with the Town Clerk; and declaring an emer- gency. DISCUSSION This resolution makes the clean and redline versions of the re-formatted Town Code a public re- cord. This process makes it possible for the clean re-formatted Town Code to be adopted by ref- erence under A.R.S. S 9-802, thereby avoiding the requirement to publish the entire document, as would otherwise be required under A.R.S. S 9-812. RECOMMENDATION Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No. 2005-144, immediately prior to or at the same time as the adoption of Ordinance No. 2005.22. SUGGESTED MOTION I move to adopt Resolution No. 2005-144, and declaring an emergency. {00001499.DOC I} FJC/cds MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2005-144 RELATING TO ADMINISTRATION; DECLARING THE RED LINE AND FINAL VERSIONS OF THE RE-FORMA TTED TOWN CODE AS PUBLIC RECORDS FILED WITH THE TOWN CLERK; AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE MAYOR AND COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF MARANA, ARIZONA, as follows: SECTION 1. The re-formatted Town Code of the Town of Marana, Arizona, a copy of which is attached to and incorporated in this resolution as Exhibit A and three copies of which are on file in the office of the Town Clerk, is hereby declared to be a public record and ordered to remain on file with the Town Clerk. SECTION 2. The redline version ofthe re-formatted Town Code of the Town of Marana, Arizona (showing changes from the former codification to the re-formatted version), a copy of which is attached to and incorporated in this resolution as Exhibit B, is hereby declared to be a public record and ordered to remain on file with the Town Clerk. SECTION 3. Since it is necessary for the preservation of the peace, health and safety of the Town of Marana that this resolution become immediately effective, an emergency is hereby declared to exist, and this resolution shall be effective immediately upon its passage and adoption.
