SUBJECT: Resolution No. 2005-74: Relating to Boards and Commissions;
Approving the appointment of to the Planning and
Zoning Commission
DISCUSSION
The resignation of Richard Purcella from the Planning and Zuning Commission, effective April
26,2005, has been accepted hy the Council. Commissioner Porcella's term expires June 30,
2007, and there now exists a vacancy.
Under the policy adopted by Cuuncil at the September 4,2001 Council meeting, applications for
vacancies must be submitted to the Council Members. Council met in Executive Session on June
7,2005 to interview interested applicants. The selection of the succe"ful candidate tu till the
unexpired term of Commissioner Porcella will be announced in public session at tonight's
meeting.
RECOMMENDATION
Mayor and Council's pleasure.
SUGGESTED MOTION
I move to approve Resolution No. 2005-74, appointing to till the vacancy on the
Planning and Zoning Commission. The term oflhis appointment will expire on June 30,2007.

MARANA RESOLUTION NO. 2005-74
RELATING TO
APPOINTMENT OF
BOARDS AND COMMISSIONS; APPROVING THE
TO THE PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION.
WHEREAS, the Planning and Zoning Commission has heen created hy the Town
Council to meet and advise the Town Council on zoning issues within the Town; and
WHEREAS, the Town Council desires to fill one seat by appointing to a
ternl that will expire June 30, 2007.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Mayor and Council of the Town
of Marana, Arizona, that shall be appointed to the Planning and Zoning
Commission with a term of office to expire June 30, 2007.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by the Mayor and Council of the Town of Marana,
Arizona, this 2 I" day of June, 2005.
