Focus Areas
HOW will we get those industries here?
1. Business Attraction, Retention & Expansion
Bring new businesses and jobs to Marana while supporting the existing base
of sustainable and thriving firms.
2. Resource/Business Support
Position Marana as the region's leading, proactive business partner.
3. Workforce Development
Work with local and regional partners to maintain a highly qualified and
diversified workforce tailored to the target industries and local business
activities.
4. Tourism 8~ Visitor Experience
Be the region's premier leisure, recreation and group meeting destination.
5. Community & Infrastructure Development
Provide quality services to support economic development efforts.
Public Involvement
^ Public comment period open from January 5 -February 5, 2010.
^ Two open houses held:
-January 13, 2010 (Abbett Library)
- January 21, 2010 (Heritage Highlands)
^ Online suggestion box available online throughout comment period.
^ Received comments both from general public as well as from staff
who did not directly participate in the process.
^ Next Steps:
-Council reviews public comments and provides direction to staff
(tonight).
