Helm~ Key stated she wanted the minutes of January 21~ 1992 to show she objeeled Mr. Lance being on the Marana Citizens Budget Committee in an advisory capacity because she felt be should be a voting member on the committee because of operating a business within Marana. White Ave., Marana, AZ The Traveling Arts Show arrived in Marana and is on display at the Marana Library and the over flow is located in the Town Hall Council Chambers. The show will remain until the 7th or 8Ih of March, 1992. There are seven Art Councils participating' in the show. Doug Mostyn, Vic. e Mayor. Development Code Protection of Native Plants C. Ordinance NO~ 92.03 - Adding' to Subdivision Code, Requiring For Stale Plane Coordinates and Listing of Documents Needed to Release Performance Guarantees X motion was made by Elwin Clifton, seconded by Bill Schisler and carried unanimously to go into Public Hearings A. Ese ~I' 1992 Community Development Block Grant Funds, 1. John Barnes, Salvation Army, 218 E. Prince, Tucson, Az. and Gary Wheeler, Salvation Army Marana Representative. The Salvation Army has been in Marana since December of 199l and provided food vouchers and gift vouchers for 35 families. Since then they have provided clothing assistance primarily, and stone utility assistance, rental assistance? personal hygiene and blan- kets. They have assisted 21 families at this time. John Barnes presented a letter or intent for the fiscal year 1992--93 for $18,473.00, for the salary of a part-time worker arid some benefits~ Mortgage assistance to individuals? clolhlng? pre- scriptions. The Salvation Army will also be providing matching funds. ltelen Key asked if Ibc Salvation Army would provide assistance [o travelers in the way of gasoline. Mr. Barnes said they provide a:~sistanee lo local people of Marana and Aw'a Valley. Bill Schisler asked if they also ask for assistance from Pima County as well. Mi'. Mr. Dove also slated that he feels thai MLB studies are incorrect. 3. Patrieia Williams 14495 N. Warfield Cirele~ Marana, AZ. Patrieia Williams requested funds for Support Groups for .lunior High School Children, "Child Victims of Sexual Assault". The Pima Youth Partnership Coordinalor was to have submilIed a granI hut has been very ill. This group has been wiihdrawn due to la(k of funds from lhe United Way and il can be put back $1200.00 this he]ps eig'hi children each week. 1. Laurita Yarter, representative of the Communi ly Health Center at 13644 N. Sandario Rd., Marana, AZ Ms. Yarter stated the Heallh Center is requesting an expansio~ of CDBG funds for prescriptions for the elderly poor. They received $1000.00 last year and assisted 18 people 60 years and older who were not eligible for ACCESS and who could not afford their pre- seriptions. This request is for $i0,000.00.
