1990 Vehicles for the Ma¥¢na Eoli~e ~partment. Doug Mostyn
stated he did not wish to act on this matter until the full
Council was present. The Town Manager explained the matter was
placed on the agenda because the dealer needed immediate
assurance the Town would purchase the vehicles because they were
being transported from Vermont. He said since the agenda was
posted another entity purchased these vehicles and the matter of
purchasing vehicles for the Police Department can be placed on
the May 7 agenda. The motion carried.

David Morales said new water lines are going to be installed in
Honea Heights, and he feels that fire hydrants should be put in
whether or not they can be used at the time the lines are
installed. Mayor Ham stated there is not enough water pressure
at this location for fire hydrants. The Town Manager said this
is a replacement of an existing line. He stated that the Town
does have a code that requires installation of hydramts at
strategic locations when there is development of new water lines.
He suggested that in the future the Council might want to
establish an ordinance that would mandate installation of fire
hydrants on any new or replacement lines they construct if there
is sufficient water pressure. The Mayor will check the cost of
installing hydrants at the Honea Heights line replacement
location.
