Executive Summary
It is my pleasure to present to you the Business Plan for the Marana
Chamber of Commerce. This plan outlines the or~anizational structure of the
Chamber, our priorities, and our plans for the upcomin~ year. like any other
business, the Chamber needs to have a well-defined plan to successfully attain its
~oals.
This Business Plan was developed with much input and direction from our
committees and from the Board of Directors, who are elected by the ~eneral
membership to lead the or~anization.
The Board of Directors sees a need to create a dynamic ima~e for the Marana
Chamber and make its role in the community much more prominent and respected.
Throu~h the ~oals the Chamber has set for 2006/07, the Board knows that the
Marana Chamber will establish itself as the voice of the business community in
Marana and create value for its members.
The Marana Chamber will be celebratin~ its 20 year anniversary in 2007. Since its
very be~innin~ in 1987, the Chamber has worked to fulfill its leadership role in the
community and develop a presence in vital areas includin~, ~overnment affairs,
business and community development. By takin~ this role and workin~ with other
~roups and or~anizations, locally and on the state level, the Chamber will be in a
position to address the challen~es that face Marana as the town continues to ~row.

Welcome Committee
. Continue with the newly organized Orientation Program on a quarterly basis.
. Encourage higher attendance at mixers, grand openings & participate in '07 Quarry mixer
Public Relations & MarketlnQ Committee
. Set up marketing guidelines for the Chamber and the committees
. Created a classification for retired business professionals
. The PR/Marketing Committee in conjundion with the Welcome Committee developed a Business
Discount ProQram called "Click Here Save There". This program will provide the members an
opportunity to promote their company with a simple "Click". This program will be up and running next
quarter.
LeQlslatlve and Economic Development Committee (LED)
. Carry on the tradition of inviting political candidates to speak at luncheons and LED meetings.
. Provide an opportunity to have department heads and Town officials discuss the progress of the Town
and keep us up to date on economic development at our LED meetings.
. Continue to work with the Town Staff to create a brochure on "How to do Business In Marana". The
committee and Town Staff approved the design of the brochure and we plan to print the brochure in the
third quarter.
. The committee is reviewing the possibility of using the B3 program, a business retention program, for the
businesses in Marana. Business retention is critical to the economic development of Marana.
. The Marana Chamber financially supported the Water Resources Research Center of the College of
Agriculture and Life Science, The University of Arizona. Sharon B. Megdal, Diredor of the Water
Resources Research Center, for the Santa Cruz Valley Water Distrid, did the study.
Special Events committee
. Build on the Community and Business Builder Award by including the Marana Foundation Scholarship
Fund in the program
. The 510 Annual Marana Chamber golf tournament will support two non-profits: Miracle in Marana and
Family Readiness Group of Western Army Aviation training Site (WMTS), 285tO, and 14010 National Guard
Units in Marana are dedicated to supporting soldiers and the families during the 2006-07 deployment.
. Promote the Fourth Annual Bowling tournament which will support the "Reach Out and Read Program"at
the Marana Health Center
Education Committee
. We have a tentative date of Odober 3, to hold "Principal for a Day" where the businesses in the Chamber
will have an opportunity to spend a half a day with the principals in the Marana Unified School Dlstrid.

Business Discount Pro~ram
The Marana Chamber recognizes the importance of providing opportunities for the businesses in the Marana Chamber to
build their business and increase their bottom line. The "CLICK HERE SAVE THERE" Program will provide that opportunity by
promoting their products and services to residences in the Marana community.
How does the program work.l
The Marana Chamber has created a program where each business can sign up for their own web page to introduce their
business products and services, and also provide a discount coupon. The "Click Here Save There" program link will be
located on the home page on the Marana Chamber web site.
What does the program cosU
The cost of this program is $125 for the first year for the first 200 members who sign up. After the first 200 members the
cost will increase to $250.
How does a Marana Chamber member sign up for the programl
First, fill out the registration form which is available on the Marana Chamber web site www.maranachamber.com The
program will go live when 100 to 125 members have signed up for the program. The first year membership will not
start until the program goes live.
How will the Marana Chamber promote the "Click. Here Save There" programl
Marketing may include:
1. Radio
2. Television
3. Print including Community and HOA newsletters, local newspapers
4. Marana Community Events, including Founders Day, July 4th, Gladden Farms Country Fair and Marana Care Fair
Additional Marketing
1. Each participating business will display a window decal Identifying themselves as participating businesses
2. Each business will be provided advertising materials to display In their place of business.
