Project Name: Habitat Conservation Plan
Strategic Plan Initiative: Recreation -Ensure that future development, land-use projects protect
and showcase the Sonoran Desert and all its inhabitants.
Project Status f Details:
• Working with State Land Department on inclusion into the HCP.
• Presentation to State Land scheduled for October 27'h at their offices.
Transportation
Project Name: Twin Peaks/Camino de Manana
Project Status~Details:
• I-1 0 lanes are in the process of re-opening.
• Twin Peaks is 98%, and Camino de Mariana is 80% complete.
• Joint project ribbon cutting scheduled November 18'h, roadway opening November 19rn.
• Community United- Bike, Walk or Run, Saturday, November 13 6:30 AM until Noon
from the corner of Coachline and Twin Peaks Road.
Project Name: American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Stimulus Project Phase
1 -Repaving and Overlay of Sandario, Twin Peaks and Tangerine Roads/American Re-
covery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) Stimulus Project Phase 2 -Repaving of Marana
Road
Project Status/Details:
• Resurfacing and restriping of Tangerine Rd. between I-10 and Thornydale Rd. is sched-
uled to be completed by the end of October.
• Repaving of Marana Rd. from Sandario Rd. to the western Town limits is pending ADOT
approval for issuance of the solicitation for bid.
Project Name: Ina Road (ADOT Project)
• ADOT will be presenting at the Chamber LED meeting on October 27 at 8a.m. at the
Marana Operations Center.

Project Name: Marana Builds Habitat
Strategic Plan Initiative: Community Building-Partner, support and promote the development
of diversified and affordable housing opportunities for residents.
Project Status f Details:
• The 2^d home is 70-75% complete.
• Home dedication tentatively scheduled for November 20'h~
Project Name: Legacy Apartments at Dove Mountain
Project Status f details:
• Building permits are issued.
• Anticipated beginning site work within the next two months.
Project Name: Sargent Aerospace and Defense
Project Status f details:
• Permit for new shell building issued.
• Concrete footings are being poured and project is on schedule.

Project Name: Criminal Justice General Updates
Project Status f Details:
• The Marana Police Department finished 1 1'h in the State in fundraising for the 2010 AZ Law
Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run. Through the Tip-a-Cop events at Texas Roadhouse
and t-shirt sales, MPD raised over $7000.

Project Name: Marana Heritage Conservancy Fall Heritage Festival
Project Status f Details:
• October 23, 2010 from 10:00 AM to sunset at the Marana Heritage River Park.
Project Name: Ironwood National Monument Open House and Tour
Project Status f Details:
• November b, 2010 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM at the Parks and Recreation Administration Building
and lawn.

Project Status f Details:
• Estimated completion date is January 1.

Project Name: Executive Search -Chief of Police ~ Assistant Town Manager Update
Project Status f Details:
• Chief of Police position announcement yielded 93 candidates for review by the October
4Th deadline. The field of candidates will be reduced to finalists by the week of October
26Th. Finalists will be invited to the Town for interviews November 15 and 1 b.
• The Assistant Town Manager announcement was posted September 16Th. The first formal
review of applications will take place October 18Th. Finalist interviews are anticipated for
the last week of November or early December.
Project Name: Executive Search -Organizational Development Consultant
Project Status~Details:
• The Town has procured the services of Ms. Deb Turner from ChoiceWorks, Inc. to assist the
Town Manager and the Executive Management Team to create 1.) a road map to deter-
mine the actions necessary to achieve the Town's strategic direction and vision; 2.) an or-
ganizational map to determine what expertise and focus is needed to successfully imple-
ment actions those actions; and, 3.) a hiring map to determine the right skills and positions
to hire in the future. This work is expected to be performed in conjunction with the Council's
December 14Th Strategic Planning Day.

Project Name: PCZ-09057: Marana Regional Landfill Specific Plan
Strategic Plan Initiative: Community Building-Identify short and long tern solutions to solid
waste disposal for the Town and its residents.
Project Status~Details:
• The Development Agreement as well as the Rezoning and accompanying Minor General
Plan Amendment will be heard by the Mayor and Town Council in a public hearing sched-
uled for November 3, 2010.
