Project Name Marano Estates Neighborhood Meetings
Project Status /Details:
Staff facilitated neighborhood meetings with Marano Estates residents on May 31 and June
11. Neighbors worked to complete a vision statement and began establishing goals and
objectives as part of a comprehensive neighborhood planning session and discussed pro-
gress being made toward recertification of the HUD Colonia status for the neighborhood.
Neighbors returned nine survey forms and provided information to be used in the packet
submitted to the Arizona Department of Housing.
Weeds, fallen fences and other code violations continued to be hot topics, along with the
dominant complaint of traffic from the neighborhood's commercial properties. There were
renewed concerns about trucks parked on vacant properties and along the back side of the
neighborhood where there is only a single row of houses. Neighbors said they had seen an
increase in police enforcement in the neighborhood and on Adonis Road, but are concerned
that there are still issues that need to be addressed.
Marano Estates neighbors requested that their regular monthly meeting be moved from the
second Saturday to the fourth Monday each month.
Upcoming Meetings
Marano Estates Neighborhood, June 27: MMC Gold Room, 6:00 pm
Honea Heights Neighborhood, June 29: Saint Christopher's Church, 6:00 pm
