Project Name Crossroads at Silverbell Park
Project Status /Details
• D.L. Withers is performing one -year warranty work at the park.
• Work includes sidewalk and concrete slab repair and replacement, irrigation system repair,
play structure repair and electrical system work.
Project Name Interpretive Panels
Project Status/Details
• Staff has completed 32 miles of back - country trails in the Tortolita Mountains since 2006
with work on the Wild Burro Trailhead under way.
• As part of that project, a series of seven interpretive panels were developed for installation
along the system. The panels will be on display in the lobby of the Marana Municipal Com-
plex next week. They were financed by Pima County Bond Funds and are part of the Town's
Heritage Project.
• Similar panels will be designed and installed at Crossroads at Silverbell Park and other sig-
nificant locations throughout the Town's parks and trail system.

Project Name Wild Burro Trailhead
Project Status/Details
• Pima Paving has started construction on the Wild Burro Trailhead. CIP Project Manager Tom
Houle is managing the project with assistance from Mac Murray and James Flores.
• The 2 -acre trailhead is located south of the Ritz - Carlton employee parking on Secret Springs
Drive. The completed trailhead will feature 60 automobile parking spaces, 10 trailer spaces,
restrooms, a ramada and equestrian facilities.
• Trailhead completion is scheduled for August.
• Construction is under way for a 7 mile trail connecting the west and east side of the Tortolita
Mountain Park. The Ridgeline Trail is part of Pima County's Tortolita Mountain Trail Master Plan.
• This project is financed by 2004 Pima County Park Bonds.

Project Status/ Details:
FREE Music in the Park Series "A Concert in your Backyard"
• Marana Parks and Recreation, in partnership with the Southern Arizona Arts and Cultural
Alliance, is hosting a Music in the Park Series. Bring your blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy
the talent of local musicians. All concerts are held at Crossroads at Silverbell District Park
from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

FREE Dive -In Movie
• Beat the heat with a G- or PG -rated feature while floating in the cool pool water. Bring
your bathing suit and towel and enjoy the show. Movies are shown at the Marana Pool at
7:45 p.m.

Project Name Colonia Recertification
Project Status /Details
• Earlier this year, the Arizona Department of Housing asked jurisdictions with designated
Colonias to complete a recertification application through the state.
• The Town is meeting with neighbors in each local Colonia to document the current status
of infrastructure and housing in the area so the neighborhoods can retain their status and
qualify for grant funds.
• Residents in each of the seven Colonias have been sent survey forms that comply with
both the Colonia recertification directive and Community Development Block Grant ques-
tionnaire requirements.
Project Name San Lucas Emergency Preparedness
Project Status /Details
• The Town is working with residents in the San Lucas subdivision to develop a community
preparedness plan.
• Intern Vickie Hathaway's involvement with the San Lucas ingress /egress work plan in-
cludes compiling emergency management survey data from the San Lucas residents, de-
veloping a best practices report on community preparedness and organizing a liaison
meeting with community members that can contribute to the Town of Marana's community
preparedness plan.
• The Town is asking San Lucas residents to complete surveys requesting important infor-
mation that can be used in the event of emergency; including number of people in the
household, age, medical assistance, etc.
